You may want to repost this in the general lapband forum... You will have better response there! As far as the leakage, I stopped leaking at about 3 weeks. I would defineatly bring it up to your doc. Try to drink a hot liquid in the morning to reduce swelling in the morning... it might help. -
Oh... I forgot to post this image.

That bone is called the Xiphoid Process. It is terminal point of your Sternum. It tends to be a pretty tender area to be whacked in, so remember that if you ever do get hit there. It seems to be the favorite place for my 3 yr. old to accidentally whack while we are wrestling... Well, that and my port...

YES... I agree! I haven't been 140 since somewhere around 5th grade! I broke 6 feet in 6th grade. I wasnt the short fat kid either... I was just tall.

OK... WOW! My wife today told me that my jeans were falling off! "No they aren't!" These are my 2 week old jeans size 48 that I posted an NSV about on the main NSV thread. So i said to myself, "I will try on some 46 jeans at wally world... I know they won't fit... grumble, grumble, grumble." I pulled the things up and straightened out the pockets and they buttoned and zipped right up! SIZE 46 BABY!!! Down from size 54!!! I can't believe this. I only have 4 more pant sizes to go to get to my goal size of 36.

Congrats Cindy I know how good that feels. Just 5 min. ago, I put on some dryer jeans (48) and had to do a little happy dance! My wife just laughed!

Hey FF, I had a cold about 3 weeks ago and I took some musinex over the counter stuff. MAN... the cold symptoms were GONE until the meds wore off. It just dries you up real good. I have the 12 hour stuff.

When do you know you are close to the sweet spot? What kind of sensations do you get? I have only had 1 fill in a 14cc band and I know I am probably nowhere near restriction. I was just wanting to know how you felt just before you got there. I can tell that my water feels like it slows down and then passes through. I can still eat. I haven't had anything real solid but for lunch I had a can of Wolf Brand Turkey Chili without beans and I felt good and full afterward. I can tell I have more restriction than before I had the fill but I know that I am not near that elusive "sweet-spot" yet.

It is the new APL Advanced Platform Large band. The AP is 10cc and the APL is 14cc. I had .5cc prime and added 2cc. 2.5cc total.

I took my wife shooting and let her try out several types of guns. A few dif. pistols, rifles, shotguns. Of all the guns she shot that day, she said "I like the 12 gage best" She felt she had more command of the weapon and the pistols felt like they were going to jump out of her hand. I did have her loaded up with some light loads on the 12 ga. Ya know, I figured even with light loads... at 10 feet across a room, a shell full of bird shot will get the job done for home defense. I sure would not want to have several hundred #6 pellets coming at me in a less than 8 inch circle at about 1100 feet/second!

Sink a 3 inch diameter schedule 40 steel pipe in the ground about 4 to 5 feet and concrete that thing in good while also filling the pipe with concrete. That pipe will cut a car in half before it breaks free! You will still have to replace the mailbox but the pipe will still be there!

Ok. I lost a pound. I know that is not an NSV but here is the NSV part. I made it through Christmas AND new years without feeling "left out" and still managed to lose a pound last week!!! Now that IS an NSV!

WOW! I bet the surgeon was surprised when he got in there and did not see a stomach! I wonder what his first comments were when he saw that?

You hit the nail on the head! I was banded in November '07. That makes me a November Nymph. Since I didn't want to put up a picture of one of those 'lil mythological wing-ed ladies, I chose the other type of Nymph. A bug! Down here in Waco, we have TONS of Cicadas in the summer and they bring back good memories of when I was a kid playing around with buddies and listening to those bugs singing!

As far as I am concerned, It takes a bigger man to realize that he needs the assistance of a medical device to help his health than a man that says "I can do it myself" and ends up dead at 45 and 400 lbs. with a family left behind to mourn. I am glad I made the decision in my 20's and finally got banded just before I turned 30. I have a much longer life ahead of me with my boys and my wife now! Congrats and welcome aboard!

Got my first fill today... OUCH. Doc had a hard time finding the port. He gave me the numbing shot and then started to palpate to locate the port. OUCH. He ended up giving me a second shot of pain killer. Good news is... I lost a pound of fat over the Christmas and New Years holiday's.

November Nymphs Lets Talk Weight Loss!
TxArcher replied to hollyberries's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I see that you were banded in Nov. 07. That makes you part of the club. (sorry no secret handshake) Welcome to another Nymph. Now all you have to do is decide if you want to be a nasty bug type nymph (like me) or one of them purdy wing-ed ladies. :scales: Welcome aboard! -
Man... here is a contact sport to stay away from for a while after surgery. Fatherhood! Day 4 post op, I was getting my almost 3 yr. old son dressed for church and he was squirmy. While attempting to apply the sock to a rapidly evasive foot... said foot whacked me full force right in my 3 inch port incision!!! That made things sore for quite a while! Took some hydrocodone and had a good time at church... :omg:

I bet it is! You got any before and after pictures??? Congratulations!
