    Struggling 5 Mos after Surgery

Thanks guys! I swear, I don't know what I would do without this site. I am going to support groups again. I made an appt with the psych that approved me for surgery. I ordered more books on bingeing. I'm facing this head on...even though it sucks. I bought Crystal Light again too. Distraction via liquid and this new 5 calorie gum that tastes like chewing Listerine are new strategies too. After this gum, nothing will taste good. It's a body slam to the taste buds.
  2. Hello, I had gastric sleeve surgery mid-April 2014. I lost 30 lbs before surgery. I've lost 77 lbs since surgery so 107lbs total. In the past 3 weeks, my desire to eat has returned...with a vengeance. I have been able to remain at 1000-1100 calories a day. But I have had 3-4 days where I have had 1500-1800 calories. I'm scared to death. I can't gain my weight back. I want to keep losing and make it to my goal. I hoped my eating disorder would go away. It hasn't. I still want to binge. Is this a struggle I will have for the rest of my life? I'm going to be honest with my doctor and NuT when I see them on Tuesday. I've been honest regarding every single morsel I have out in my mouth on MyFitnessPal. Honesty, is a big change from how I used to be. I'm scared. Is this normal? Have any of you dealt with this?

    Not losing

Relax! It happened to me and I was sleeved in April. The scale didn't move for 10 days. I think the body is adjusting to life after surgery. Do not get on the scale everyday. It will mess with your head. Just follow the doctor's orders. Eat Protein first, take your Vitamins, get as much liquid as you can and sleep if you need it. It gets better, I promise. I've lost 40 lbs since April 17th.
  4. Skinny Pop Popcorn is delicious. I like the regular, black pepper and Ultra Light White Cheddar.

    What is a "Slider" food?

Eeeeek! I never thought of that. Back to sugar free Popsicles... Thanks for the info

    What is a "Slider" food?

I love Skinny Pop popcorn. I am only 5 weeks out but I can eat a full serving (4cups). I measure it out and eat it when my family is eating foods like fried chicken and pizza.
  7. I get Premier Protein shakes at costco. They are $24.99 for 18 (11oz) shakes. Each has 30 gms of Protein. I'm 5 weeks out and I wouldn't be able to meet my protein goal (85 gms) without them. I have one for breakfast on the drive to work. Then I have a Greek yogurt (Chobani, Simply 100, 12 gms of protein). And later at work a piece of string cheese or a Breakstone's 2% cottage cheese (4oz). For dinner, I eat a little something like some Soup or a sandwich of Boar's Head lower sodium chicken breast with a slice of cheese on Pepperidge Farm light bread, with a dash of light Hellman's mayo. I can eat a whole sandwich but that is it. I used to be able to eat 2-3 sandwiches AND soup. Lol!

    Food

It's going to be okay. Your nut and dr give rules regarding when to eat certain types of foods because your insides are healing. You made a mistake, now go back to what you were eating. Have you tried yogurt or cottage cheese?

    So mad at myself

I don't think you stretched your stomach. Buy my Nutritionist warned me about salty, crunchy things like cheese it's (an old fav). They are sleeve beaters because they crumble up really small and slide right down. Measure out a portion of what you want to eat and put the rest away. Have you tried a Skinny Pop Popcorn? It's 43 calories a cup for the Ultra Lite Cheese Flavored. They sell it at Kroger. Give yourself a break. It's a new process to learn what works and what doesn't. Keep trying! You've got this!

    so tired and weak

Mont247- I'm 23 days from surgery. I'm tired often too. I even posted about it. It's normal at this stage. Try to get enough fluids in and give yourself a break. You can do this!

You guys are the best therapy on earth! Thank you so much. I feel better knowing this is normal. I'm going to drink tea and hide the scale. And maybe sneak a 20 min nap on my lunch break.
  13. Hi- I had my sleeve on 4/17. I've lost about 20 lbs since surgery, 30 pre-op; 50 total since December. I was losing a pound a day but now the scale says I've gained a pound. This isn't possible because I eat less than 800 calories a day. I can eat 1/2 bowl of Soup and I'm stuffed. Eating sucks. It's uncomfortable, painful and I hate it. Drinking Water isn't refreshing like it used to be. The constant sipping is annoying. And try as I might, I can't ever get above 40oz a day. I'm exhausted everyday even though I sleep 12-13 hours a night. I am constantly dragging through work like I'm
