My Pre Op Diet started yesterday. Today, I had an awful day at work. As the night progressed, things went from bad to worse. My small meal started as a turkey sandwich on low cal bread and ended with me eating a half of a large pizza and picking the cheese and toppings off the other half. Now, I feel dirty and gross. I feel like a crack addict for food. I've been working on issues for 6 months. I know I'm ready for surgery. I hate this feeling after a binge. I've been suffering with this for twenty years. Does this ever get better? Am I fooling myself by believing surgery can help?

Thank you all so much for your support. Today has been much better. I was able to drink my shakes and eat a small meal without freaking out. Thank you! -
Over 400Lbs Gastric Sleeve Success Story

NevadaDave, you are my hero! I am 411 lbs. I was 426 at my highest weight. My surgery date is April 17th. I'm scared to death because at 37, I have been fat for 22 years. I've been worried that I may fail at this. Thank you for reminding me that I can be successful if I try. -
I'm so excited. My insurance approved me in 7 business days.

Hi Everyone! I'm new to this site and pre-op. My insurance requires a 6 month medically supervised diet. I'm at month 6. I meet the surgeon on March 3rd. Between months 4 and 5, I stopped drinking Diet Coke and lost 21 lbs. Now, I'm having issues. I'm eating Chobani yogurt, celery, turkey sandwiches on light bread (no mayo), fruit, drinking 72 oz of Water a day...and then I freak out a few times a week. Once, I ate a whole large pizza. I hate binging. I feel gross and ashamed. I haven't gained any of the 21 lbs back. However, is any of this normal? Does it get better after surgery? I'm seeing a therapist about the binging. Help, any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Wow...thanks for responding. I appreciate you responding. I need to lose ~225 lbs. It's literally horrifying to face the reality of what I've done to my body and what it's going to take to fix this. Thank God for this forum! -

God bless you! Thank you so much for sharing your story. I was worried I was screwing this up and I haven't even had surgery yet!
