  1. great thread. I almost feel guilty for not having issues with this. Sleeved May 22, was walking around the hospital floor about 4 hrs later. Was bored and wanted to walk. They let me out the next day. Since then, no issues but head hunger. Solid foods in 3 weeks. Have had no issues with anything (steak, seafood, chicken, etc). Looking forward to having a manhattan soon or a full glass of wine, but don't want to push it too far. Might partake in cocktail hour in Lake Tahoe next month, but we'll see. I highly recommend it
  2. I'm only 3 weeks and 2 days post op and can eat anything. All things taste great including steak, chicken, seafood, etc. I'm still very conscious to chew everything carefully
  3. decaf right now. Banana mushed up. Makes the protein shakes bearable. Good luck. I'm 16 days out and eating solid food already without issue.

    Hunger?

I feel hungry frequently and am starting to get a little concerned. I had my surgery May 22, about 2 1/2 weeks ago. I have already started eating solid foods (i.e. chicken, salmon, burger, etc), which seems aggressive, but my surgeon said for me to start stage 3 on week 3. I get all my protein and water in daily, but am not sure if it's "head" hunger - where I am just missing food and my mind is messing with me, but it feels real. I've read and heard that acid in the stomach can mimic hunger. If you continue to get hungry ask your Dr. There are some people on a ppi that can help calm the acid, thus make you not misinterpret for hunger. Good luck
  5. I am two weeks post op and concerned about the hunger. I get all my water in and protein and even started solid foods. Had some chicken salad, egg whites, even put down a slice of turkey. I am hungry all the time, but down 25 pounds. Not sure why I am hungry all day. Even after a meal I might be somewhat content but half hour later, literally hunger pains. Hope this normal and will go away. Anyone else feeling that.
  6. sorry for the ignorance. PPi?
  7. I am about 10 days post op (May 22nd) and physically feel great. I am starving though and crave real food. I mistakenly thought the cravings would go away, but they don't. I am having pureed soups but getting sick of those quickly. I blended half a banana in my whey protein and milk today to fill up, but was hungry within an hour. I have about 1 cup of soup or something pureed per meal, but it really doesn't do much. Not sure if should have more or just deal with it. I don't want to stretch my stomach. Not sure if others dealt with major hunger immediately following surgery, but by day 3 I was hungry all the time.
