When do the gas pains stop?
Almitra Formisano Massey replied to barbmeow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What are you eating daily? Any Dairy? I did not experience anything like this except right after using milk for a protein shake. I stopped milk for 2 months and was wayyy better. -

PLEASE tell me my boobs will shrink
Almitra Formisano Massey replied to leslie1958's topic in The Gals' Room
Ladies, remember that a 44DD and a 38DD are completely different breast sizes. For every numeric size you go down, you would go up in a letter cup size if the boobs were the same size. I have gone from a 44DD to a 36DD but my boobs have deflated quite a bit thank God. -
Hair loss
Almitra Formisano Massey replied to brittersmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get all my protein every day, take all my vitamins plus 5,000 biotin. I get all my liquids. At about 3 months the hair started coming out little by little. My surgeon said with the sleeve it isn't supposed to fall out, but my other friends with sleeve and RNY have all had it fall out to some degree. It is a result of trauma, but will be worse if you don't get protein in. You must find a way, there are many different types and you have to keep trying until you find some you can stomach. You might need to stay away from whey and use vegetable protein. Plant Fusion (Vitamin Shoppe) or Nitro Fusion (GNC) are two good non-whey protein sources. -
Hair loss
Almitra Formisano Massey replied to agooch's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery on April 15, 2013. I always get at least 80 grams of protein and I take all my vitamins including 5000 Biotin for hair. I drink all my liquids and follow the diet I was given pretty well. About three weeks ago my hair started falling out. My surgeon said it shouldn't fall out for sleeves but here we are. I knew going into this it was a possibility and I thought thin and healthy and bald was better than fat with good hair, but I'm having a hard time accepting this. When you go through trauma, hair can fall out. Last week my scalp got sunburned on vacation! My friends who've had sleeve and RNY all say it will grow back. I'm praying for it to be soon! -
Constipation!
Almitra Formisano Massey replied to Lia M's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
MIralax - or the Walmart equivalent - every day. I saw someone else posted about smooth move tea and I'm going to ask my dietician about it. I used that before and it worked well too. -
Any APRIL SLEEVERS? Let me know your progress !
Almitra Formisano Massey replied to beachblondeee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Not one thing. Get your vitamins, liquid and protein in every day and watch yourself get to goal. When you exercise you are building some muscle so it only LOOKS like a stall sweetie. Don't let the scale be the only factor you consider. -
Any APRIL SLEEVERS? Let me know your progress !
Almitra Formisano Massey replied to beachblondeee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sleeved April 15th and this has been such a blessing for me. Down three sizes and feel so good, so much healthier. Eating regular foods and following the plan, losing about 1-2lbs per week for a total of about 38 pounds in a little more than two months. I have nothing to complain about. -
on Dr. Oz today (Tuesday)

How can we blame them? We had the power to choose foods for ourselves. They market what people want. If we wanted to eat healthy, the produce isle has never left the grocery store. -
Diarrhea -help!
Almitra Formisano Massey replied to saira's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have had diarrhea most of the time since surgery April 15 so about 8 weeks. Lactose intolerance is one cause but most anything is a cause. It's better than being constipated but would prefer normal stools. I guess I can see from this thread that this is pretty common. -
