Help me convince people Mexico is safe
susanecho replied to mlecompte's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I had mine in TJ. What a great experience. A driver picked us up from SD airport and took us to the hospital. TJ was clean and not scary at all. The hospital was clean and the staff was nice, professional and spoke English. My coordinator who is from the states was there as well which was nice to have someone I had been in contact with for months before the surgery. I stayed two nights. My sister brought her laptop and tons of movies, unless you want to watch Spanish tv. After I was discharged the driver took us to a hotel then picked us up a few hours later and dropped us off at the airport. Ask for a wheelchair so you don't have to do too much walking only days after surgery. It was a great experience. If you want the company and surgeon name pm me. My recovery has been great. My coordinator called me after I had been home for a few days and will call again after my month mark. Good luck! -

May sleevers! How much have you lost so far?
susanecho replied to mrsplusamericajacksonville's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
May sleevers, you are doing awesome! Stall or no stall. Keep it up! I'm glad I don't have a scale because it is discouraging when it doesn't move or moves so little. Our brains want to see dramatic loss all at once, but as another poster said we didn't gain it all at once either. For those of you who weigh yourself everyday or several times a day maybe hide the scale in the garage where it's not convenient and weigh yourself once a week Just a thought! -

Ladies: How many of you pre-surgery got the "Are you pregnant" question?
susanecho replied to GirlOnFire's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I've had that happen at work several times. I'm a nurse and wear scrubs which usually hide a lot, but apparently not. I just say no, I'm just fat. Why should I be embarrassed? The person asking the stupid question or making assumptions should be. Also, the area of nursing I work is labor and delivery. Think about mamas who's babies didn't make it and still look pregnant. Be sensitive and just don't ask. Could you imagine just delivering a fetal demise and then someone asking when you're due or congratulating you? Keep it to yourselves people!!! -
