  1. I can understand back out once, it is normal. You said you backed out 3 times. I would encourage you to really write on paper ALL the reasons you want to do this, and all the positives that can come out of it, and review it everyday and add to it. The reason I say this is because if you've backed out several times, it sounds like you are going to need some concrete reasons, that you can put into words, and be an anchor to keep you from backing out a fourth time. I wish you the best of luck!!

    Need help with fiber

V-8 can be an option, Probiotics might help also. However, you have to balance. One or two bites of Protein, then get vegetables. there are plenty of shakes to get extra protein in, but not to get veggie nutrients in. good luck

    Stalled in 12th month

It kinda sounds like you already have a good handle on whats going on. It's just the mental battle now. That is one of the reasons we tell folks who are pre-op, that it will not help head hunger or making wrong decisions. I wish you the best of luck in changing your decision for the better. The well known advice for snacking is to keep them out of the house, and the grocery cart. Those little Special K chips like the Kettle Corn and Sea Salt and such, are the worst for snacking, because for about 27 chips its only like 120 cals or so, and so it gives me good excuse to eat em and still feel like I'm doing good! I had to keep them out the house to be safe. Take care.

    Pre op question

If you haven't already, make sure you schedule all your appointments for psych as early as possible. Usually they take a bit to get in with them, plus it may take couple weeks for the psychologist to write up his report and get it to your surgeons office. It can be an unexpected delay that most folks don't think about. Usually once all your paper work is submitted, it can take the insurance company a couple days to several weeks to approve. Mine took an entire month for an approval. Good luck to you!!!

  8. You may be right, i think im going to cut wayyyy back on lifting and replace most with cardio. Ill wait until i get to goal and then i will get back to lifting.
  9. There are actually 4 calories per each gram of protein. So to get plenty of protein in takes some good calories. Thanks for your response friend i appreciate it.
  10. Hey friends, I am 5 months out from VSG surgery. I just recently, for the past 4 months, have been lifting pretty heavy. The issue is, that I have stalled to 1 pound lost in last month. Has anyone actually lifted weights, and saw a continual decrease in lbs? My calories daily are around 1300. The way I figure it, I HAVE to have the calories to replenish the muscles, but I don't want to consume too many. According to the calculator for Basic metabolic rate for someone my age and lifestyle, I would need 1500-1800 cals just to allow my body to function with its core requirements, like breathing, heartbeat, digestion, etc. Obviously I'm not going to go that high with calories, but I also know it takes calories to build muscle. I'm kind of stuck in this thought pattern. Some have suggested just doing cardio, but I have lost so much muscle tone, and maybe that's just the nature of this journey until maintenance, idk. Anyways, your thoughts are appreciated. Thanks. Adam
