Does anyone have dreams they wanted to accomplish after weight loss?
Justkeepswimming37 replied to Dj Sleevage's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got emotional reading these posts. I never wanted to admit that my weight was holding me back and coming to terms that is has is a step to a better me. My dreams: marriage and a family, confidence to make a career move, not avoiding social events, riding rides at amusement parks, fitting in booths at restaurants, maybe a 5K with my super skinny & healthy friend. I'm still deciding on the last one. -

Crazy leak ?
Justkeepswimming37 replied to kim2002's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon said up to 4-6 weeks is the highest risk of a leak. I however did not inquire beyond that so can not speak to that. I was told that generally the patients they have seen come back with leaks post surgery are those that did not follow the post op diet. They actually had one patient go home and eat a Subway sandwich 1 week post surgery. Can you believe it? I bet the leak was enough to keep them away from Subway. -

I am not feeling hungry but my desire to eat is back. Commercials and smells get me craving things though. -
July 31 sleevers
Justkeepswimming37 replied to Patti K's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved 7/30. Week 1 clear liquids, week 2 - 3 full liquids, week 4 puréed and week 5 soft foods. To be honest though I am considering bumping up puréed to week 3 and softs to week 4. I feel like a rebel but am struggling on liquids. It appears surgeons are so different. I'm not wanting to fight the system, just want to feel normal. -

July 31 sleevers
Justkeepswimming37 replied to Patti K's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on 7/30 and am also craving meat of any kind. I want to devour a steak or chicken breast! Well, that and Mac and cheese, oh no! -
Another good site is dietdirect.com I used to do another diet program and bought high protein products from there. The Wonderslim brand is pretty good as are some of the other items.

July 30th is the day! Who is with me?
Justkeepswimming37 replied to Dawnyellow's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Glad to see everyone is doing pretty well. I got to start full liquids yesterday and am excited. However, I do not feel like eating so did very little today. My goal is 60 grams protein but my doctor is also more focused on water the first couple of weeks. They do have a schedule to try to fit it in on full liquids but it literally has me eating or drinking every 1-1.5 hours. Yuck, getting full thinking about it. -
I had surgery on 7/30 and my period started 8/1, 2 weeks early. That's all I wanted to deal with in my first couple days of recovery. It seems to be very heavy this time and usually I have very light periods. Has anyone else had this issue? Did your period start early after surgery and was it heavier than normal?

Just made a protein shake that doesn't taste like one!

Sounds tasty. I also like chocolate shakes with frozen black cherries. Yummy! -
Noisy Stomach! does it get better?
Justkeepswimming37 replied to Dawnyellow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was also sleeved 7/30 and just started the noises yesterday. TMI warning, I also went #2 for first time and produced a lot of gas so was hoping it was my body just getting up and functioning again. -
I am just a few days post surgery but have had this issue due to a med I take. I find that Magnesium Citrate works pretty well. It tastes horrible but seems to work ok for me. You may want to check with your Dr. though to make sure it's ok to use.

How long is everyone in the hospital for? I have to stay 2 nights, go home Thursday. I'm not looking forward to the stay.
