About Me
My name's Tara, and I'm a lifer. My first diet apparently started when I was 6 months old (gained too much weight from breast milk) and there have been many, many since then. I've had limited success (<40 lbs) in losing on a couple of occasions, but by and large the scale has continued to go up, up, up. While I've never known life as anything but a fat person, I've never let my size get in my way and have always been active; I'm sure this has played a part in keeping me healthy (i.e. I'm just fat). However, in the last few years I've really started to feel my size in how tired I get when playing with my preschool students, and I don't want to be that person who is too tired to play with my own kids (if we are fortunate enough to have any). I don't believe that my life will magically and suddenly be perfect after surgery; this will be a long road, and even if I become a thinner me, I will still be me. I'm looking forward to getting to share in your stories and invite you to share in mine. Thanks!
