Today both my husband and I saw our family physician to see if he would fill out the paperwork for the banding Drs, and out health insurance for the preauthorization. He didn't even hesitate he said yes! He already has some patients that have been banded, he was quite informed on the procedure already. He had us both get our Chest xrays and EKGS while we were there. He said the Drs in Port Huron Mi. move pretty fast. I have been to one of their seminars. Husband is going to one on Monday. I have called the banding Drs in Port Huron to set up consultations for both of us. I have been reading info from this and other sites. I love this site Keep your fingers crossed for us that things move along smoothly. I am trying not to get excited incase something falls through. :laugh

lol thank you I need that

There would be no way I would send them money. Mind you I donate to other things quietly. ie give extra at a spagetti dinner for a kid with leukemia or something. But like everyone said. This was just tacky tacky.

yeah and fortunely/unfortunely my DH got me a lap top for Christmas and put in a wireless router. So lap top sits on counter while I'm cooking, On lap when I'm in recliner after work, and sometimes on the bed. Oh well I love this site. Gonna see my family Dr. Tommorow to see if he will recommed to the insurance co on my behalf for the lap band. -

Corgi, What a great question. I have been asking myself the same thing but never thought about posting it. The replies all the members gave made me feel sooooo much better. This is such a hard decision, I go wednesday to see my regular Dr. to see if he will fill out the referral papers for insurance authorization. There is that inner fear what if this to doesn't work? Good luck to you!

seriously looking at banding
shamrock replied to shamrock's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Looking at everything to see what is right for me, husband is too, banding looks less invasive on your body, less recooperation time afterwords too. Good sucess rates. Surgeons and support group close ect. The whole bypass thing looks quite scary to me.. Alot though will depend what and if my insurance will cover. -
I am looking at lap banding and how soon after your surgery can you return to work? I am a registered nurse and am on my feet alot.
