Awesome! I just sent for mine too! Thanks!

It is!! I used to put frozen corn in it also, but who needs the extra carbs now? This is one of my daughter's favorites because it is so satisfying, yet so healthy.

Glad to hear you are doing OK!! Just remember to walk several times a day...that will help with the gas, and sip, sip, sip all day long!

How about a white chili? White ground chicken or turkey, some cannellini beans, whole bag of baby spinach or bunch of cut up swiss chard, onion and garlic, and some cumin and other spices all in low sodium chicken broth. I would double the meat and only use 1 can of cannellini beans. This is super yummy!

Road trip on soft foods
CorvetteGirl replied to katierebecca83's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will probably want a small cooler for Water at the very least, so include some premeasured scoops of Protein in individual sandwich bags. I would also throw some string cheeses in there and some turkey Jerky. High protein! -
Nursebarbie, you are looking awesome!!!!

Help--prilosec immediately post op
CorvetteGirl replied to PGee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not on Prilosec, I'm on Prevacid sublingual 30 mg, but I still had to take my Cymbalta, which is in a capsule. It's not time released, and I brought it to the hospital with me. The nurse broke open the capsule in about a teaspoon of applesauce and I had no problem getting it down. It took several bites to get it down, but it wasn't a problem. -
I'm 2 1/2 weeks post op and I'm supposed to be eating 3 meals per day. I'm on soft foods. When I progress to a regular diet in another 2 weeks, I can then add 2 Snacks. At present, I'm doing an hour of cardio per day, and since I started that, the 3 meals just isn't enough. I add 2 snacks now...I was feeling weak without them burning up the extra calories. I have turkey sausage bites, turkey Jerky, string cheese, or mini babybel cheeses. I only eat high Protein snacks...no exceptions.

Ok everyone, i need help with my grocery list!
CorvetteGirl replied to JessicaAnn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a pork tenderloin thawing in the fridge now. I'm going to marinate it with some olive oil, lemon juice, salt, pepper, garlic, dill, and parsley for a couple of days. It's actually 2 smaller tenderloins in the same package. I roast at 425 for about 30 minutes and let it rest for 10-15 min. The meat is super super lean and easier to get down than chicken, which I find to be more dense. According to my Lose It app, a 3 oz portion cooked is 122 calories, 3g fat, no carbs, and 22.2g protein! It is super yummy...give it a try. -

Sending prayers your way.....feel better soon! -
I have read countless posts about stalls and was full prepared to encounter these "bumps" along my journey. What I was not prepared for was having a stall at 1 week post-op! Just a little background....I had surgery on 7/22. I lost 9 pounds in the first week. A week to the day exactly, I was feeling super awesome so I started doing an hour of treadmill 6 days per week. I was on purees when I started and I'm on soft foods now. I am tracking my food and exercise with Lose It. My net calories after exercise are between 250 and 500. Yesterday was 643. I am getting 75 - 95g Protein per day and 64 - 90 oz of Water per day. The scale hasn't moved since last Monday, which is when I began to exercise. Do I need to increase my calories, water, or protein to get the scale moving again? I was absolutely NOT prepared to deal with this at only a couple of weeks out, but it is what it is. Any suggestions from all you vets out there would be welcome. TIA
