Thanks, Richard! I know the measurements will still go down during a stall, but should I increase the Water, Protein, or calories due to the exercise now or just leave it "as is"? I wasn't sure if the exercise is what upset the balance of things, and if something needs to be adjusted.

My surgery was 7/22 and I am doing really well! I've had a remarkable textbook recovery and I was able to get in all water and protein from the day I got home. No pain meds, gas, or nausea. I've been really lucky. Started 1 hour per day on the treadmill a week after surgery. I hope everyone else is doing well also.

I had to do the magnesium citrate and ducolax tablets for a barium enema prep. I had a colonoscopy 2 weeks prior to that and the bowel prep for that puppy was MUCH worse! I mean horrible!! And I had to drink 8 8 oz glasses of this crap. The mag citrate will definitely make you go but just plan on being close to the toilet and you will be fine. The other stuff was a nightmare!

I use Lose It. Works really well to track food and exercise.

I was very lucky. My insurance didn't require any supervised weight loss for 3 or 6 months. My first appt. with the surgeon was May 29 and my surgery was on July 22......7 weeks from start to finish.

My doc says about 3 weeks.

If you want to get a jump start on things, you can eat high protein low carb starting now. That will start some weight loss and get you in a positive frame of mind.

I had bloodwork done at my initial consultation last month. Prior to this my a1c was close to 6....I was borderline diabetic. The results of this current a1c were 7.8. Immediately after I had the bloodwork before I even knew the results, I started a low carb high Protein diet, which I have been on for 4 weeks now. Already feeling much better and healthier. My question is this: my surgery is scheduled for 7/22...that's less than 3 weeks away. Do I really need to worry about DM meds at this point? I've been eating so much better and I will be having super low carbs during my 2 week pre-op diet, which will begin Monday, 7/8. Also, with an a1c at this level, won't it get even better and end up resolving itself after surgery? This really has me kinda worried. Any thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.

I'm 1 week post op and getting between 70 and 80g per day. Also getting at least 64 oz of water.
