My name is Susie, and I started this journey at a weight of 262lbs and 5'5" tall. I had the Lap Band placed on 3/1/09. Over a three year period of time I went from 262lbs to 193lbs. During that 3 yr period we never really found the "sweet spot" and I was always hungry. During the 4th year, I suddenly woke up one day (had not had a fill in over 8 months) choking on my saliva and feeling great pressure in my chest, it has been down hill since. 3 times in over a year time frame we removed all fluid and refilled the band slowly. We could not get the band to function right. As I regained 30lbs during this, my doctor suggested revision surgery to sleeve and insurance agreed to pay!!! My surgery is scheduled for June 3rd 2013 @ 10:30am. I am very nervous. I work in healthcare and made the mistake of watching a UTube video of the surgery, which now has me scared. I have been on this site for about a week researching proteins, ideas, and tricks to help make my journey a success. The information I have found has been great! Wish I had known about some of these proteins earlier. I have made my self a notebook filled with ideas and motivational quotes and know I am going to succeed.
