  1. Thanks NewStarter! I don't like fish, so I have very high hopes for chicken. I will make sure to mix the chicken with either BBQ sauce or fat-free gravy so it's not dry, and I will chew it to death! I'm looking forward to the start of week 5 when I can have a chicken stew type recipe made in the crock pot! Thanks again and best wishes to you!
  2. I really enjoyed your post! I lost 55 pounds before surgery, and was sleeved on May 24th. I'm also REALLY sick of the drink boxes. BTW - the Unjury chicken soup protein powder is pretty good too! I've lost an additional 12 pounds since surgery (I gained 8 pounds in 36 hours in the hospital, and lost 9.5 within 24 hours of being home - crazy fluid shifts!). I'm curious what foods have made you ill, and what foods you've been able to tolerate. I can't wait until I'm at the 4 week mark, and then I can start real food. Thanks again!

    I want pizza!

Don't forget sesame Jack sesame strips from TGIF!
  4. I'm six days out from being sleeved, and yesterday I thought I was going to have to go to the ER from dehydration. You MUST do this - let the protein go if you have to (you won't absorb the protein anyway if you're dehydrated). One suggestion in addition to the popsicles (SF of course) is the low-fat, low-sodium chicken broth - I actually find that causes me to RETAIN fulid (despite being low-sodium), which is a good thing in this case. Keep a piece of paper handy and tally your ounces, so you can track your progress during the day. Get a shot glass (2 oz) and keep taking shots every 15 minutes. Mix it up with Crystal Light. You have to do this or you will be in the ER. Good luck.
  5. I tend not to like ANY of the protein supplements, but the Unjury chicken soup is actually one I can tolerate. The only complaint (and it's more of a whine than a complaint) is that it takes me so long to finish it, it gets cold. But it's still good, and I eventually finish it!

    The look

Well I don't know you from a hole in the ground, but I'm proud of you! Some people are just turkeys! Just say "I'm still losing, thanks for asking."

    Pain pain go away

I am on post-op day 2. When I try to drink water my stomach/abdomen is extraordinarily painful, like a knife in the stomach. I haven't even tried a protein shake. I am scared to death that I will become dehydrated and be re-admitted. Help! Is this normal Any suggestions??
