I just attended a seminar (havent been banded yet) and they said that it is perfectly normal to become hungry before an adjustment. As far as the college money, well there are always scholarships! LOL

One of the things they told us in the seminar I attended was that you should try to get the liquid form of the medications you are on. They may have to be ordered at the pharmacy. If there are some pills that can not be crushed maybe they have a similar pill (different brand) that can be. Its worth a try. I know they said that there is a liquid tylenol that comes in adult form but might have to have the pharmacy order it for you.

Thank you so much for the information. I am just thinking ahead in case my insurance decides after all of these tests that they will not cover it. I live in NJ so I am sure that airfair would be a lot more. However the cost of the surgery in Mexico sounds like it is so much cheaper than if I had to pay out of pocket here. As far as the fills there are some centers that will do it that aren't that far for me. Again thank you for all the information! Valerie

How much does it cost if you go to Mexico for the lap band and surgery? I have heard alot about Dr. Ortiz. How long does it take to get surgery, do you have to go for consultation? Just curious in case insurance doesn't cover it.

I have not been banded yet but have met with who I believe to be a very good sergent. Dr. Patel of Atlantic City Medical Center. I am going to all the appointments to get ready for the surgery. His office is located in Linwood.

Hi, I have not been banded yet but in the process of getting all of my appointments together to get the ball rolling. I am looking to get some honest information and real life experiences from those that have already been banded. Any advice you can give would be great! :girl_hug:

You should be able to be approved for surgery since you have complications directly related to the weight issues. I can't believe your Dr. said those things to you. Don't they realize that if you could loose 50 or 60 pounds you would have done it already? My BMI is 36 but I have some pre-diabetic things going on and high cholestrol so I am just waiting for my appointment next week and hopefully a date in August. Good luck to you and don't give up!

I am from southern NJ also! Cumberland County, Vineland. When is your surgery date? I have gone to see Dr. Patel in Linwood but I don't have a date yet for my surgery.
