I started drinking coffee again about 8 weeks out. I have 1 or 2 cups each morning. No problem. -
Question for June sleevers
Reberm replied to cmathews77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi there, I was sleeved June 6th. My weight was 259 when I started the preop. 245 day of surgery. I am 206 today. So 53 pounds down since 5/23. It has been slow and I have had a few stalls and then I will drop a pound or so each day. It feels slow. I am walking quite abit. and doing some strength exercises twice a week at home with bands. My calories probably average 900. I am getting at least 60 grams of protein and I try and drink a lot of water. Dinner is my hardest time. I try to eat what my family is having and I have to really watch my portions. I can get so full. Protein first. -
I also experience dizziness when I get down on the floor then get up or gardening in the yard. My blood pressure is good also.. I feel like I get enough fluid. I am seeing the doctor next week so this is a good reminder to check on it.

Reberm replied to christina0613's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm down 26 lbs. 14 from the preop and 12 since surgery. I got an infection which made me feel like I was set back a week. Finally off the antibiotics and feeling better. Ready to start exercising. -
I asked my nutritionist about constipation. She gave me a recipe to make up in the food processor. It has Senna tea leaves, prunes, figs, raisins. She said a little tsp of it everyday will do the trick. Just went to the store. Will be making it tonight.

I am day 14 post op having been doing pretty good. tomorrow I start soft mushy so moving out of puree's each step is sure a change. The last 3 days or so I am having back pain right in the middle close to my bra back. I think it must be gas. It hurts and thankfully goes away when I lay down. The weather has been awful this week and so maybe I haven't been walking enough.

Hi there I am on day 11 sleeved on the 6th and also had a hiatal hernia fixed. I am the same. Thankfully. I have had no problems getting things down. In fact it has made me feel like maybe they left my stomach too big. No major pain issues either. I think we must be very lucky.

About 3 weeks before my surgery I went to the dentist and discovered I had an infection under a crown. The dentist said I should get the infection out before surgery or it could cause problems. I had the tooth pulled the very next day. Thankfully I had time to deal with it. I agree for your health and safety you need to talk to your doctor.

It was nice to have my pillow and a furry blanket. Bring your phone and maybe a book. I was so groggy I really didn't read much. Besides that just your basic toiletries and wear lounge clothes. They give you those non skid socks to put on so I really didn't need slippers.

Hi it is second day post - op. I am feeling pretty good. All the anesthesia has worn off so I am sore. But not terrible pain. I started my protein drinks today. Had a Premiere Chocolate one in the morning and am finishing a NECTAR Ice tea lemon flavored packet. Not too bad. I took a half dose of my pain medicine so I told hubby I could even run to the store with him. And then naptime when I get back. I weighed myself this morning and I don't know if it was the IV's or my body is holding on to liquid but I was up to my weight starting the pre-op diet. Hope that goes away quickly. It is hard getting out of bed. Anyway hanging in here.

I was sleeved yesterday also. Completely agree with Jandseakin. Not as bad as I feared. The nursing staff was wonderful. I was so glad to be able to swallow easily. Have had water , juice and broth all went down easily. No major pain so so far so good. A day at a time.

Vsg done. Surgery & recovery was hard
Reberm replied to a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi everyone, was just sleeved yesterday at noon. I am still at the surgical center. It is 2:30 am. Been sleeping for hours which is good. Pain is minimal. I was so pleased I can drink okay. After reading some stories I wondered. They just started an IV so I am hydrated when I go home this morning. Overall it is better than I expected. Great nursing staff. -
Well tomorrow is the big day! I have to be there at 11:00 am. The nurse told me they are doing 5 tomorrow. 3 of us are spending the night because of sleep apnea. So I stopped eating at 6 pushing liquids until midnight and then nothing not even water until surgery. I am going to be really thirsty and dry mouth going that long. I am nervous. Do I have everything ready. It's still so unreal. So hoping that this is the answer. Thanks for the support I hear from all of you,

I had my pre-op today and it was about 2 hours in total. Paperwork was maybe half an hour. Just reading through it and signing and initialing. Took some blood and blood pressure. Gave me instructions and medication lists. Talked with the surgeon he showed me where the incisions will go on my stomach. Anyway June 6th!! Thursday. !

I had my pre-op appointment today. Had to sign papers, they checked my current medications and gave me a prescription for what I need on Thursday It included a patch to put on tomorrow night to help with nausea. . Took my blood pressure and drew some blood. The surgeon came and talked to me and showed me on my stomach where the incisions would be. I guess one more day of low carb stop eating at 6:00 tomorrow and nothing to drink after midnight. I had lost 10 lbs on the 2 week pre-op which is great. So just getting excited nervous have to put my bag together tomorrow. I have to spend the night because of sleep apnea. I stopped at Costco and I now have protein and vitamins. So I think Im Ready!!!

Does nail polish apply to toes also?
Reberm replied to a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I asked a nurse about the polish and she said it was because of the clip they put on your finger to monitor your heart or oxygen rate I am not sure. But the newer Gel or Shellac block it so they need it off your hands. I wouldn't think it matters on toes. -
June 6th. Looking for my sleeve siblings! :)
Reberm replied to jgcraftmom's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am living about 350 miles away so tomorrow we are driving over to Edmonds, Wa. On Tuesday I meet with the surgeon for my pre-op appt. Then Surgery is Thursday! I am getting nervous excited too. Keep reading over information and thinking do I have everything. My husband is being pretty good. He listens to me but doesn't say too much. Our daughter had the Lap Band about 8 years ago and it didn't work for her so I think inside he is a little leery about me doing this. -
June 6th for me!

June 6th. Looking for my sleeve siblings! :)
Reberm replied to jgcraftmom's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi I am having my surgery on the 6th too! I am in Washington State. I am doing 2 weeks of a low carb diet. Not too bad but I really have to think about everything I eat and look up the carbs. Too used to calories. I am getting excited. Seems so unreal. -
My surgery is June 6th. So today was day 3 of the low carb diet. It is hard. I have always counted calories and now carbs are totally different. I was hungry and headachy today. So I am hoping this is the purge and tomorrow will be much better. Getting excited now. Hang in there. We can do this.
