I don't believe you would be on acid reducers for life unless you had to use them b4 surgery. Otherwise you should be able to get off of them eventually when everything is healed and your feeling almost 100%.

    5 days post op

Cold water doesn't agree with me either. I mostly drink warm tea as my tummy likes that. The rumbling occurs with me as well. If I take in to much at once I get a full feeling below my boobs in the middle and it's so uncomfortable. Room temp protein shakes agrees with my tummy as well. I felt like I was going to die as well the first four days after surgery. I was readmitted to hospital on day 3 & 4 because of dehydration, SOB, and hyperventilating. When you feel a pain in the center of your abdomen straighten your body out by pushing your chest out and the pain will subside. I also find rocking on my butt or when standing helps to relieve a stabbing gas. Need to let your doctor know about not going #2 there is a med called Reglin that helps the gut with peristalsis (gut movement). I was able to go a couple of times since my surgery on the 25th. Call your doctor if you have any concerns, they want and need to know. Good luck to you...
  8. Hey everyone, I'm starting day 5 post-op tomorrow. I want to know if anyone had complications with SOB or hyperventilating? I had to be admitted back in for those two and was also borderline dehydrated. And how long is this gas or pains in my abdomen going to go away? I also have bradycardia (slow heart rate) and heart palpitations. Anyone having or had this type of experience?

    Will i grt through this?

Hey everyone, I'm starting day 5 post-op tomorrow. I want to know if anyone had complications with SOB or hyperventilating? I had to be admitted back in for those two and was also borderline dehydrated. And how long is this gas or pains in my abdomen going to go away? I also have bradycardia (slow heart rate) and palpitations. They released me today after a two day stay but, told me to do follow up with a new primary doctor and cardiologist as I have moved to a new city in the same state. Any input would be nice, hoping to find someone who has experienced close to what I have experienced. Thank you
  10. I was re admitted the next day because of dehydration, SOB and I was hyperventilating when I walked. I hope my day 6 will bring me the same as you.
  11. No but being 4 days out I feel like I have to burp and nothing comes out. My belly hurts from the gas. The gas is trying to escape and it hurts in the process. Have you had this bad with gas?
  12. I'm experiencing pains too. Has your gone away and how far past post op are you?
  13. It will pass, I'm 4 days post-op and gas has subsided about 70%. When it does occur its brief episodes. Your doing just fine. Keep plugging along and keep your eyes on the prize.
  14. Me too, day four of post-op and have spent three days in hospital counting the surgery day. I just feel so much better now. Gas is still here but, nothing like it was. Everyday gets a little better and I'm loving it...
  15. And that always happens to me not because of the surgery.
  16. I get urinary incontinence when I throw up
  17. Yes I have pain when burping and hiccups. I feel everything too but fortunately the nausea has subsided.
