I concur--sometimes the best and only answer is to be the example of a healthier you. Way to go 6 months and 100 pounds!!!!!

Even if you had taken a bite, probably one bite would have put your mind back in touch with your tiny teeny "stomach" and your stomach would have said Hell no--can't handle that fat and fried stuff. Good job

I am 6 weeks post op today and my NUT and surgeon have set protein daily goal of 90 grams. It's impossible to get that much protein without the Protein drinks, but I find that I am getting a horrid aversion to the artificial sweetener taste in the protein drinks and am tending to go with the Soups. Your taste buds might be changing as you go through the process; the whole process seems very individually based.

why do i want to eat....and eat at night?
dreao replied to pottergirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
What works for me (for the most part) is having something to do with my hands that requires them to be clean. Right now I am on a crocheting kick--everyone in my family will be getting something. I have also tried drawing (try Zentangle.com) and paper rafting. -
I was sleeved four weeks ago and didn't have too much pain after I returned from an overnight stay in the hospital. Everyone is different so keep your liquid pain meds handy in case. I have had quite a bit of feeling sick after eating some new foods or eating too fast but it's a good reminder to stick to the protocols that the surgeon gave. I was a self pay.

This seems to have the potential for some serious consequences. But what I hear you saying is that you are frustrated and want to be thin now. I am craving a piece of toast with Peanut Butter and berries on it, but none of those items are on my approved list of foods. So I will have a Protein drink (yuck).

may sleevers....a month out...how r u doing?
dreao replied to sleeveb430's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Was sleeved 5/16 so just out 4 weeks/a month and down 40 pounds, but still have real trouble with some foods and never feel like I can take a big enough drink of Water to not be thirsty. Am more bothered by temperature variations in food and drink than by the food itself. -
Could you post the cupcake recipe? It sounds like manna from heaven.

I'm on meteor in 850mg x2 (was x 3 before surgery), lisinopril, lopid x2 and more damn supplements tan I even want to think about. I have had trouble feeling sick after I take everything and honestly take so many morning pills that I can't eat right after because there is no room. Have tried taking with super Protein drink (unjury and skim milk = 30+ grams of protein) and still feel slightly sick but not as bad as food poisoning.

Why are my readings not coming down?!?!?!
dreao replied to bascott73's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 4 weeks post op today and my bs has been all over the map. But I know to an exact number how many carbs I've had as well as Protein and fat and sugars and calories. I have never been this exactly controlled with such weird readings. Did a little researching and found some evidence hat the liver is trying to dump all that stored glucose in reaction to all the starvation. I am finding it amazingly difficult to eat the damn 600 calories and get in the protein needed, but the surgeon said I have a fatty liver (goes with the rest of me I guess but still rude). I'm hoping the liver will let go of all the stored glucose-- am on sliding scale of Humalog and still take all the same oral meds. Have had one instance of bottoming out first week I was home but a glass of skim milk took care of it. Hang in there everyone-- our road is harder and longer to travel but we will still get to the destination of Better Health. -
Dr. Cirangle did my surgery 5/16--4 weeks post op today and down 35 lbs but feel lethargic and kind of dizzy. See dr. Cirangle next week when he's in Sacramento.

Clearly and beautifully expressed, layla33. Obesity is the last of the socially sanctioned discrimination.

Sleeved 5/16/13 but weight loss is slow
dreao replied to KrysMom271's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
We shar a sleeving date, so today is 9 days post op. I actually had two days where the damn scale went up and since I haven't had any solid food for 12 days I was discouraged too, but today's duel with the scale showed a loss again. I am so tired of sweet drinks but am taking courage from other sleevers' posts. -
Sleeved May 15 and Regretting it
dreao replied to RainbowBrite26's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my operation the day after yours and admire that you are up out and about with so much ease. I am still treating my poor abused fat gently but yes there where two days where I was really sad and down in the dumps. It's the chemical and hormonal rest in your brain. Try chewing on some ice chips (yes, I know it's bad for your teeth but this is a coping strategy not an assault on your dental work) I am so sick of sweet drinks and not chewing any
