  1. A good friend of mine sent anpicyure of me from a few years ago when about 10 of us decided to spend the day at Venice Beach, Ca. I remember the day so vividly. I could not walk because my back and knees were aching, do I told them to continue to walk and I'll catch up alter I rest: Dell, I never caught up and sneaked to my car which was 2 blocks away, but it felt like 20 blocks. I stopped by aF KFC AND ATE A 10 piece bucket of chicken in the car and cried!

Wow I left out the story that later I realized that I went to KFC and ate that 10 piece with biscuits and apple pie to punish myself for being super obese and not being able to participate in life. Oh God that was truly one of the worst days in my life!

    Weight Lifting/ weight loss

Man why are you so negative? Geez. There is no doubt that you have a strong opinion about weight training, but remember that not your opinion nor anyone else's opinion is gospel. Cardio, weight training, mental health and most importantly NUTRITION should be done in balance. I try to respect everyone's opinion on Bariatricpal, but when I run across a post like this I feel compelled to respond. I really hope you are successful in your weight loss and healthy living journey. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE respect other folks decisions and methods. SuperKen
  6. Well the T range level are from 250 to 1500 when I was first checked and diagnosed with low T I was 158 ???? yes 158 my PCP joked with me that I was basically at a female level for testosterone. Now with I take a weekly injection. The reason I cycle on and off is to give my thyroid a reset if you will. Actually after loosing over 240 lbs pre and post op so far and along with my workout routine I feel ok during my off cycle. I should say this obviously T replacement therapy as well as any other hormone replacement therapy should be taken very seriously, so one should seek out medical advice from physicians who are experts in this particular area. 7. I too had my surgery at Valley Hospital with Dr Bessler a year and 2 1/2 moths ago I just clicked with him. I also researched Bagloo who has outstanding reputation as well. She actually examined me the morning after my surgery and was very professional and personable. Good choice on your part. Have a successful surgery. SuperKen
  8. Hey Ken I've been on Testosterone therapy for a few years now under the guidance of my PCP who specializes in T therapy. The key is you have to have your blood work checked every three months. When needed I cycle on and off for 3 month; this is again under the watchful eye of my PCP. There is a lot of misconception out there on the subject and circumstances are different from individual to individual. I feel great since since I've been on the T replacement therapy. My levels are in normal range as well. Take care SuperKen

    Weight Lifting/ weight loss

Hey Bigboy76 I'm a year a 2 months post-op I started working out 1 month post-op. I started my weight training program at the 6 month mark and have been ever since then. If you want the name of the weight training program I'm using send me a personal message as I don't want to seem like I'm a promoting.

    Gaining after a year

Man it's crazy how we all can be sooooo similar. I'm down 131lbs since surgery 10/14/13. Over the last 2 months I stalled and then gained 7 1/2 lbs and it's all from snacking and not drinking enough water. I think the only thing that kept from gaining more weight is that I rigorously workout 5 days a week and I walk everywhere. I'm terrified of gaining the weight back; so when I saw that Ai actually gained I freaked out! I need to find a support group to attend in the Los Angeles area ASAP!

    October 2013 Sleevers Roll call!

Hey Neal you are doing awesome. I was sleeved on 10/14/13 surgery weight was 384; today 10/13/14 i'm 253. I've been stalled give or take 5lbs for the last 2 months and it's a bit frustrating. However, seeing your results has inspired me to try harder to reach my goal weight of 210. Keep up the good work man I know it's not easy. Ken

Hey NJVSTuser, thank you for your kind comment. I have quite a ways to go to get to Onederland, but when it happens (well it's still hard for me to even imagine hitting that milestone) I'll be ecstatic.

Thanks you all for your suggestions. With the help of my surgeon's staff I was able to find. Surgeon who would take on another surgeon's patient (who would of thought that would be an issue?).
