The first three days were the worst for me, then the next 9 days were ok... But the last 2 days before surgery were murder for me! Just remember your goal, and the more weight u lose in pre-op the less u have to lose post op -

Wow u can already have pureed on Monday?? I have 2 more weeks on liquids before I can add pureed. Jealous! I found that the only time I get a gas bubble now is when I drink too fast. Have u been walking to flush the gas out? Today I almost hit 10,000 steps today. Feeling good! -

did you guys struggle at all with the full liquids period from days 4-17? im stuck because im currently in california today until next wednesday....allowed to have protein shakes creamy soups and drinkable yogurts...but its hard being on "vacation" after surgery.... wondering if i should find a food store somewhere and look for some shakes? today when out to lunch, i ordered cream of cauliflower cup of soup...i didnt even realize when i was eating it that it has tiny broccoli bits in it.=, like it was pureed...and i ate it! then i was drinking out of a straw without even realizing it....now im all nervous that ive messed up so much and im only 5 days post up! feeling a little defeated, and this is only the beginning! Geez! -

I agree with you....i think i did so much research about the surgery, about the pre-op diet, etc. and while i did prepare physically for the post-op diet, meaning i stocked my kitchen with pudding, yogurt, shakes, etc, i dont think i prepared enough mentally for it. i had my surgery in Mexico on monday, and im now in San Diego until wednesday...so i have to eat at restaurants. i dont have any Protein shakes, i do have a couple Protein drinks that i bought i can have.... so for today, had some drinkable yogurt for Breakfast, half cup of cream of cauliflower Soup for lunch....but all during lunch when my friend was eating chicken, french fries and a salad, i was DYING to have her food....so much so that i took a fry and sucked on it lol i think its just hard because ive been on a liquid diet for 3 weeks now and i have 2 more weeks on liquids before i can move to pureed food...its killing me! i just want a little bit of avacado...or SOMETHING i feel is of substance! lol not sure which inscision is the largest, but the one on my right hand side is really hurting me today. for the swallow test, you mean the barium leak test? if so, that didnt even bother me! i really didnt even taste it! i think my sense of smell or taste changed a little bit or something? what is your plan frmo your nutritionist? min is full liquids from now until march 5 (days 4-17), then on march 6 i get to add in pureed foods that are applesuace texture. how are you doign on Water? its 5pm, and ive only gotten in 4 glasses today! trying to get all 8 glasses today! its a challenge! -

I felt like that at first too, I am 5 days out. Yesterday I was allowed to have drinkable yogurt. Got a small one, starts drinking it and was bummed that I could drink so much....then my tiny tummy kicked in and I felt it. I could only drink about 3 oz and I was full until lunch. Had 3 popsicles for lunch and that was 2 too many! Felt sick and had to lay down and wait for feeling to pass. I really thought I was gonna throw up. I didn't eat anything the rest of the night just drank Gatorade. When was ur surgery? -

In 25 days I will have my new sleeve done by Dr. Ariel Ortiz on 2/17/14. I'm getting so excited. The further it was, the more nervous I was. The closer it gets the more excited I get. I think I'm prepared and ready. I got this! They told me pre-op diet 2 wks before but I want to make sure I lose my 10% weight so I think I may start my pre-op diet next week, even though I will be on vacation in Disneyworld and Key West next week. -

Thanks for the encouragement guys! Everyone was right when they said I wouldnt really be alone when i came, even if i came alone. it was nice meeting everyone yesterday. only thing id with id done is get their contact information before we left the OCC so i could email them and see if someone wanted to go for a walk or sit by the pool or something. A little lonely in that sense. But hopefully i will bump into someone tonight I am getting better with reminding myself to drink, the only problem is i take a giant swig, then realize i'll kill myself if i try to swallow that all at once. so i sitt here and keep the water in my mouth and do 4 smaller swallows lol got in 3 cups this morning, half bowl soup, a few sips of tea, and a cup and half of water this afternoon. -

thanks for asking, hoosier. I was the second one to go in for surgery yesterday in the morning around 11am. they had a really hard time finding a vein for bloodwork and IV, i already have tiny veins to begin with so on top of not drinking water, that was a pretty painful experience. i walked around more today, but i was just so tired. got back to hotel and fell asleep for a half hour here, half our there. i cant tell if what im feeling is pain pain, or gas pain. i think what im feeling is pain pain on the left side where the drain is. ive gotten in about 3 1/2 cups of water in so far today, still sipping away. not really hungry.. im debating on taking my pain medicine but the instructions say wait til tonight to take first dose so im trying to hold off. i waned to go walking around stores, but now i think im gonna hold off until tmw to do that. i dont want to push myself too much -
