You might want to try the ring. U don't have to remember to take it daily and I lost weight on it even before my surgery. Def wld be careful with pills as pp said. I ran out of my ring prescription and we used condoms till I Cld get in to Dr. One fell off and I took the morning after pill next day. I was allergic to it. Covered in hives and swollen face and neck. Anyhow, it didn't work lol. I'm happy to be having another baby but really was trying to wait a year. U will b super fertile. I hope the pills work but consider the ring. It sits where it needs to and delivers the meds and your fluctuating weight and hormones are less likely to interfere. Hopefully.

You'll get pregnant a lot easier after losing weight. And if u have to use fertility treatment down the road so be it. You really aren't that old though. Have u been pregnant before?

Almost 3 Months Post-op and Surprise...
Squizzo replied to momma_missie's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
My surgeon just shot me a look but wasn't upset. He said for me to maintain my vitamins and follow the orders of my ob. Which I haven't gone to see yet. I'm 7 weeks and 3.5 months post op. 50 lbs down. Good luck and don't stress about their reactions. U did everything u Cld to avoid it. I even took morning after pill right away and was allergic to it. This happens to a lot of women though... all that estrogen I guess lol -
I was using protection and one night it disappeared so I took the morning after pill the next day. I was allergic to that pill. Broke out in hives and had a swollen neck and face. Anyhow, was expecting my period 2 weeks after pill and it never came. Waited 4 more days and tested positive for pregnancy. I was only 3 months post op when getting pregnant. It's a weird part of the journey cuz I was getting super hungry. Now I'm not hungry at all. I'm 7 weeks pregnant right now. Just hoping to make the best food choices I can. Sweets seem to be a mild craving and taste the best lol. Keeping that to one bite. Certain things sound good but then I get a couple bites in and have to give it to the dog lol. It's very strange. Have the Dr s given u ladies any tips on vitamins? I'm just following my post op vitamin regimen and haven't been to the ob yet

I didn't think I'd get approves so fast. I am bmi 40 and have no health issues. Just thought it wld be harder than this lol. After a half week of binge eating out of nervousness for the surgery (oddly enough didn't gain scale weight but I can tell my tummy grew some. I stopped weight training a few weeks ago cuz my schedule doesn't fit it in well anymore and I think I lost muscle at the same weight ratio as fat gain) Anyhow, finally calmed down with the stress eating (been a year since I did that! Was feeling like I'd never eat again lol) and I think I was pms eating too. I am all good now. Feeling much better about the surgery and less scared. I'm doing my pre op diet and will be sleeved next week... yikes! So soon! This time next year... I Shld be skinny for the first time in my life. Will be weird lol. And totally cool at the same time. Cray cray! Of course then I will have hanging dangling skin lol. I find the radio commercials pushing weight loss surgery so silly. They tell people to get bikini ready by getting a surgery that requires you to be 100+ over weight... ahhahahahahaha! Who wants to see my skin flapping through a bikini... ahhhh lol. Another surgery down the road for that. I am considering the it works wraps but definitely will be doing toning as best I can Well I'm rambling Good luck all!

1.5 years out, only 40% loss, Devastated
Squizzo replied to Disabledaccount's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What about going back to 2 protein drinks and one small meal? Even at only 6 weeks out, I stall when I eat 3 meals and have to keep going back to drinks with one meal in order to lose. Don't beat yourself up. Get back on track and be proud you haven't gained. You've lost a lot. Surgery isn't a fix all but is definitely a great tool and it will always work if you work it. (((Hugs!))) -
Spaghetti 7 weeks out yes or no?
Squizzo replied to maysleever2015's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Zucchini noodles are bomb! I suggest just eating meat and sauce since u wanna get in as much protein as possible Or over broccoli even -
I Was Told I Look Like I Have AIDS Today..... :-/
Squizzo replied to livvsmum's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had a friend in high school who told me not to lose weight because I'd look like an alien cuz I have big eyes. I thought it was funny but made me get an idea of how hard it is for other people to accept change. When I lost a lot of weight my senior year from doing aerobics, I had a girl truly concerned that I was going anorexic. She asked me if I was eating and I said "are you serious? ! I had both lunch hours a day and was eating both lunches!" I loved that metabolism! Lol Is definitely hard for people to be as excited about it as we are. I've even had friends get jealous. It is what it is. They have their own battles and I have mine. You look awesome and thin but totally normal. I did not see your before and would think nothing but envy if I bumped into you! So happy for you. And ilk prolly be posting a similar thread in about a year lol -
I found out after I came out of anesthesia that the Dr lied and said I had hypertension and sleep apnea lol. That's why I got approved so fast. I'm still glad I got the surgery but will be annoyed if anyone asks me about those"issues" as I'm proud to be a fat person without problems. Oh well lol. On the super cool side, I was asked by numerous hospital staff if I was athletic. My heart rate is super good apparently. 50. I still have a big head from that lol. Praising my cardiovascular health woot woot!

Cottage cheese was on my full liquid diet and it helped to feel like I was eating real food. I also had soft cheese (like cheddar) that chewed up really smooth and went down nice and easy.

I meant to say 2 weeks... yesterday

I'm 3 weeks and cleared for mushies which I started after about a week anyway (a little) I was full liquid at 2 days post op and only clear on day 1. Kinda strange how many different plans are around for the same procedure. I don't suggest you go against ur surgeons orders but maybe see other plans and play around with your comfort level. Mine says I can swallow my horsey calcium pills buy I'm afraid to. I Shld give it a try I suppose bit i# all the food that enders my mouth has to be a mushy consistency, I have a hard time wrapping my mind around the pill. Cottage cheese was on my full liquid list and it helps to feel like your eating. Give it a shot

You can only eat so much so take a little of the things u want and nibble and feel good about being "bad" without binging cuz really you can't do that at once anyway. You'll be good

I am almost 2 weeks out and have not had an acid issue whatsoever. Free things gave me heartburn before and they no longer trigger it at all. I am worried it might develop though... I hope not!

this might be a bit awkward but....
Squizzo replied to Courtneyxo17's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Ya I've only pooped once in 2 weeks and that was about a week ago. It sux! I'm only 10 days post op. Not sure what is safe for me to take so early -
I went a week. All was well.
-
I'm not looking forward to my next bm. I've only had one since surgery and I'm 9 days out. It was extremely painful. Not sure what I can take for it this early but considering coffee

one week post op regrets...:(
Squizzo replied to skippy88's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try not to stress. Sorry you didn't get to prepare for this. There are some people who find ways to eat a lot in small portions throughout the day and gain a lot back. Hopefully you won't want to do this. As a foodie, you can still enjoy many things but in small portions. Most important is that you mostly sick to a protein first approach. I love not feeling hungry and am able to make better choices because I'm not being controlled by my stomach brain. With that, my head brain sometimes wants to eat for no reason. Something I will have to learn to overconfident. I'm very happy to have this surgery and I think when you take off some weight, you will feel to good to overindulge. You have a low bmi and hopefully you won't have saggy skin. I think weight training might be your new indulgence. As you shed fat, you can tone and define what you initially wanted corrected in the first place. Relax and use this tool and I wish you the best! -
Argument with NP over Coffee
Squizzo replied to Slimsoon1988's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Decaf is actually on my approved full liquid list. Which I find strange because I think it's more acidic than regular. I figure if I can have decaf then I might as well drink regular and be sure to stay hydrated. I haven't had coffee yet. I'm 9 days out but have started regular tea even though I'm suposed to stick to decaf. I haven't had an issue with acid in the slightest but still a Lil leary of coffee. Seriously looking forward to it though! Lol -
Did they really take half my tummy?
Squizzo replied to sparkles1971's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was wondering this too. I'm a Lil over a week out and have been able to take a whole portion of pudding. It scares me but I feel better reading this. Am also very glad I have no problem getting my liquid down -
How are the days after surgery?
Squizzo replied to cuchas's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel I recovered well and quickly but did need to take it easy. It was 5 days post op where I felt totally back to normal. I chose not to sleep during the day because I didn't want to throw off my schedule but I did take it easy. If you recover like I did, you will feel it but won't be a drag. I also only needed the pain meds for 24 hours. I didn't fill my prescription and just had some tolerable soreness. I believe this can also depend on your age. My foster mom got it and said she pretty much slept for a week so everyone is different and you probably won't have complications but they can happen so you just never know. I wouldn't worry about being a drag for her time out and chances are with 2 weeks you will have at least one great one. Good luck and congrats! You're gonna love the surgery (after a few days lol) -
I think they're not citrate. I cldnt find any. Good to know about bad digestion

Your favorite protein drinks/shakes
Squizzo replied to judyoz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The pre made premier ones are good! Was surprised cuz I hate all the sweet stuff. I just bought some pain whey protein powder in bulk from grocery store and added it to a bottle of poweraide zero. 4 tbsp 40 g protein. Easy to drink. Trying to do my own inexpensive version and hydrate at same time. It's good! I'm preop right now. Surgery in a week! -
Why are we overweight, anyway?
Squizzo replied to BarnGirlWK's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think it has a lot to do with homeostasis. When we get fat for whatever reason, if we stay there long enough, our bodies get used to it and consider it normal. When we lose weight, if we don't reprogram our body that this is the new normal (staying at goal for over 3 years), it will try real hard to go back to fat normal. I've had this happen a few times. Mostly a loss of 50lbs that came back on within a few months. A couple times I lost 100 or more lbs and it came back on before a year. Very sad. Very frustrating. I hope the sleeve is right for me to keep it off
