    Anxiety and Irritability

I was sleeved this past February and doing great with 62 lb weight loss. I took a low dose of Effexor XR for five years prior to surgery. I have found in the last month that my anxiety has Increased and am increasingly more irritable. I hate feeling this way. Should I consider a higher dose? Has anyone else had these type of symptoms?

    Anxiety and Irritability

Barb, It does get better as you adjust and work through you emotional satiation from food. To me, the emotional component of this I totally underestimated and felt not relevant. BUT I was wrong! It is huge!! It's an addiction. And detox sucks!!!! I don't think we can promote products on this site but I did try a supplement that has helped with the edginess. Email me if you want more info meremaynard@gmail.com. Hang in there, take your Vitamins and remind yourself it will get better!!!

    Help...I'm Falling Off The Wagon

The holidays are killer! After a few too many mistakes, I've realized you really have to make a plan of attack. If you know you will be home alone, what are ten things you can do besides pick up something sweet? I've always baked a ton during the holidays and loved it. I did it once this year and ate way too much of my sweets, so now I've been crafting new projects. Keeps me out of the kitchen to avoid a taste of this and a taste of that. Maybe one day I can make it back to the kitchen but definitely not this year!

When Life Gets In The Way Of The Sleeve

HELP!! My first holiday season is killer. I'm far enough out from surgery (9 Months) I have to rely on my will power and not necessarily how miserable I feel to keep away from sweets and carbs! I had a party last night and ate worse than I have since having surgery. How can I reign myself back in??? I still have to get through Christmas AND New Years!!!

So What Do I Order @ A Bar?

I usually order a vodka Water with lime. I also have had bloody mary's which are low on calories but high in sodium. Lots of bars / restaurants offer "skinny" margaritas as well.

    Anxiety and Irritability

I continued taking the Effexor after surgery. I did not modify it simply kept taking the capsule per my doctors instructions. The Effexor has always worked miraculously for me. I haven't felt this way since before I started taking it five years ago. I think some of my anxiety is related to weight loss. But most is irrational. I HATE feeling this way. My family and friends have agreed or brought up that I seem "on edge" and "direct" as of late. Most of the time I feel exhausted, nauseous and / or light headed. I know this has probably contributed to my irritability. Ugh. I don't regret having the sleeve but I do hate feeling this way and hope I feel better soon!!!

    Ice Cream

I found a recipe on Pinterest that help stave the ice cream craving. 4 tbs yogurt, 1 tbs peanut butter, 1/2 mashed banana. Mix together and then put a spoonful between two banana slices. Lay flat and freeze. Once frozen I put them in a gallon ziplock and keep in the freezer. When craving something sweet and cold I pop a "banana sandwich" Seems to hit the spot.
