That sounds good, but for summer, I would add some ice and a blender.

Wow!! Talk about bashing the family budget!! I am a firm believer that if you want something done right you need to do it yourself. (Yes, I seem to want to control everything, but can't control my weight without surgical intervention.) It never fails that I need to re-do most of what someone else is getting paid to do. I'll keep my fingers crossed that everything works out for you!!

Not until the week after you - but Congrats!! -
OMG - greek yogurt plain is just nasty, I hopefully will be able to tolerate protein shakes for breakfast. I really am not a breakfast person - I never got hungry until about 2 in the afternoon - of course once the hunger monster woke up it was eating until bedtime

I'll get by with a little help from my friends....

OMG, that's why we all are on this forum. This is an extreme lifestyle adjustment with no days off. I know that before when I was on one of my weight loss kicks - you know keep it up long enough to get about 20lbs. off, then kind of slowly giving the new eating plan the boot, gain 25lbs. in two weeks. This is different and it gets emotional because we can't stuff our feelings down with food. I don't know about you, but I did that alot. This is all normal. You can still be a Culinary Genius, but, your husband may have to take on the "tasting" duties (eventually you'll be able to take one bite), then you'll have to give the food away, or better yet sell it. I used to bake for extra $$ - and I was thin when I did that. It is time to kick food dependence to the curb. We will all learn to eat what we need nutritionally. Hopefully, once we fill our nutritional needs, there won't be room for the food we don't really need. You will be fine. -
You would think that they would recognize at Hallmark that WLS is an occasion. Love that one shoulder lace dress!! Congratulations on your date, that is my date as well. Can't wait!

Take a "before" photo, and take your measurements. (it will be helpful during stalls) Take deep breaths, a positive attitude will make all the difference.

Was there a specific amount of weight that you were required to lose?
-
Even though some places do this surgery on an outpatient basis, and others an overnight stay in the hospital, this is still major surgery. Major surgery requires a decent amount of recovery time. I think you always need time to get used to your new way of eating.

Not a miracle - merely a tool. -
Will I ever eat a hot meal again?
Rox replied to SueJH's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't asked myself that question since my kids were little!! I think i'll just be happy if I can tolerate what i'm eating. -

Wow!! You are looking good. Be proud of yourself and enjoy your success. I know that more success is coming your way. I know your heart is broken - but sometimes it can be for the best.

Inspirational...maybe?

You look good !! Keep it up, i'm sure you can lose as much as you want. This is a process - true - but it's a journey that will result in good health -
I intend to exercise and weight train to firm up - if that apron-like swath of skin resolves itself - fine. If not there are Spanx - until I save the money for the Boob Job and Tummy Tuck
-
I never had gerd before I got fat. Don't know whether surgery will make it better or worse. I do not want a by-pass.

Great Job!! Congrats!!

I think I understand why after you're a couple years out that this forum would get old. I would like to think it's because you are so busy living your life.

blog post - what not to say to a friend who has had weight-loss surgery
Rox replied to LatteMadonna's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I just loved your blog!!! There used to be rules about making comments to people about personal body issues. Now it's just a free-for-all. Along with Money Management, I think we need etiquette classes. Whatever happened to tact and diplomacy. Our grandmothers had decorum - they had the good sense not to say whatever popped into their head. -
Good Luck and Happy Healing!!
