Ladies: How many of you pre-surgery got the "Are you pregnant" question?
Rox replied to GirlOnFire's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was asked by a little girl about 10 mos after I gave birth to my 1st son - I was in a group of people and they just slowly all walked away - i just said no honey, just fat. At that time I wasn't even near 200 lbs. I almost cried - little did I know back then, that I would be much heavier. -
I too got some to try pre-surgery - tried it plain w/some fresh bluberries - I wasted the blueberries. Then my son told me to put some honey in it. Made all the difference

Sleeved march 19'2013 have had two spine surgeries and not losing weight
Rox replied to unshackled's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I personally also hate the weight loss protein shakes - have you tried isopure? You can get it at GNC and it's not a creamy shake - it also has 40 grams of protein in each bottle. You've gone thru alot and if one of your big worries is not enough protein - you can order this on-line and they'll deliver it to your house. Take care of yourself, eating right is part of healing. -
i'd like to add ice and a blender

It's in the same company - there's no way to keep it a secret. They should not have a problem.

any stats on death during/after the surgery?
Rox replied to ProudMama's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There are lies and then there are statistics - courtesy of my cynical accountant husband -
You need to take your own advice and try and love yourself -- most of us on here felt exactly like you do -- sick and tired of being sick and tired -- but remember removing 85% of your stomach is not the magic answer --you won't wake up from this surgery immediately being able to feel your hip bones again -- this is only a tool, it only works if you follow your drs. post op orders to a T. That being said, I hope you are able to do this, I wish this surgery would have been around sooner -- I can tell you, there are barely any photos of me with my sons as they were growing up -- I don't want to see this happen to anyone else. I spent the last 10 years feeling just like you do.

sleeved may 6th..this is tough!
Rox replied to Sophia ♥'s topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
OK, by the time you folks a few weeks out are feeling better and getting a grip on working your sleeves, I should be be in the early miserable weeks of my post-op -- I will be the one in pain, constipated, and trying to get all my protein and liquid. I hope that all of you on here today will respond to my post and tell me it gets better. I'll look forward to that. -

Not feeling like yourself happens on both sides, and even if she did have her surgery in Mexico here PCP can refer her to a nutritionist

You are so lucky!!! I don't have any support groups where I live. Are you afraid that everyone will be older than you? Just remember that everyone there wants to take the same journey you do. There will be people that are ahead of you, and people behind you. You're all in it together.

girlrfriday - Do they remove guilt for everyone, or do I need to make a special request. I can't wait until I can eat a couple Tbsp. of anything and be able to stop!

Tips for dealing with a sore abdomen?
Rox replied to HatheryOnHerWay's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've read both of your posts, the polyp/BC conundrum and this ab pulled muscle - God knows i'm not a doctor. I do think that the muscle pull is just something that has to heal on its own, but try a heating pad, along with the ice. If your insurance covers it i'd get a second Gyno opinion. -
Love Love Love this video, am getting on You Tube to see your others -- You are so positive and HAPPY -- I love to see that, have fun at your plays and concerts, am happy to hear that you've still got restriction - Keep on living life and having fun

Question about the "After" body...
Rox replied to devine.adon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too have that fear because I am 53 and have been obese for about 15 years -- I also am 5'7" and am built just as you described yourself. All Belly and Boob. From what I have read on this forum - just like the question, how much weight will I lose? It's different for everyone, but I too have not been fat all my life, I could weigh 175 and still wear a sz 14. Also from reading this forum the sizes of normal sized clothing has changed in the last 10 years. I didn't know that because i've been shopping the Fat Lady sites online. I have my surgery July 30th - keep in touch -
You look great -- nice work!
