    difficulty drinking

Kelsey, I'm five days post op and experiencing the same thing! It almost excruciating as the liquid hits the stomach. I'm having spasms as well, so it makes it more difficult to keep things down. But, Gas X dissoluble strips are becoming my new best friend. I have also made myself walk around the house every time I drink anything to help with gas too. We can do this! It's just a matter of time before things go back to normal and then we can complain about being too skinny.

Sharp Pain On Left Side Of Chest

Rosemarie, Girlfriend I am in the same boat. The pain is excruciating and i have to move around alot right after I drink anything or it gets worse. I also heard from my doctor that it is gas. As much as you may not feel like it.....WALK! I also noticed that the pain subsided when I took a deep breath right after I swallowed something. Almost opening up the esophogus for the air bubble to come out. GAS X dissoluble strips are taken at least five times a day, sometimes more.....it totally helps!! I'm five days post op
  3. Holy crap, in the hospital for a month? My home would disintegrate without me for that long. I'm hoping that it's something simple.....it just doesn't feel like it though. I'm pretty tough, but this brings me to tears when I swallow anything. (crossing my fingers)
  4. Lizv123, Speaking of leak symptoms......what did they do to find your leak and what did they do to fix it?
  5. I did call doctor and he said it's an occasional side effect with the medication (the blurry vision), and the chest pain is supposedly just gas. My next appointment is next Thursday, so I guess we'll set if I can make it until then.
  6. I just had surgery on 5/20/13 after a six month process of researching what procedure would be best for me. The sleeve won, by a long shot. So now that surgery is over, I'm having some difficulty with some of the side effects and pain. Now, mind you, I have had four c-sections so I'm no stranger to pain. But it literally feels like I'm swallowing razor blades every time I drink anything. I've tried warm, cold, and room temp to see if anything helps, but to no avail. I'm assuming it's gas, so along with walking I am also taking Gas-X strips. Any other suggestions? I'm actually scared to start eating pureed foods next week, if it already hurts this bad with just liquids. - Heidi
