  1. Did you have a revision from sleeve to rny? How different was it to the sleeve? Any complications? I'm going to see my surgeon next week for a revision from sleeve to rny. Any help is appreciated.

    Sleeve to Bypass REvision

I also need a revision, kind of worried about it I have GERD, and sleep apnea. I also have damage to the esophagus I already did all the tests that needed to be done to show I have this issue. I meet with my surgeon at the end of this month so he can discuss the revision procedure and give me a date. Anyone had the revision? How was your experience and is the weight loss slower?
  3. Years done the road, I developed acid reflux, which damaged my esophagus, and I also suffer from sleep apnea. My heartburn is horrific. I also have a hiatl hernia, my surgeon wants me to have a revison to a gastric bypass. I am not sure if I would do it? Anyone here needing a revision?
  4. Has anyone got a hernia from WLS? I was sleeved 2013, and I found out I have a hernia, now I need a repair, I also have a lot of heartburn, nexium is not ideal for me as it can cause heart attacks, and many other side effects. I'm hoping my surgeon does a revison but Kaiser isn't one to do one fingers crossed.
  5. I would have it again, I wouldn't do the gastric sleeve I would opt for the gastric bypass, being that it's more restrictive. I've gained weight I feel like I failed myself. I have a ton of issues in my life that are overwhelming and have me stressed out. I can't change things in my life for now. I care for a loved one who is mentally ill and that is a rollercoaster ride. I also don't like the feeling of taking a Vitamin and it makes me sick. There are a lot of things that bother me about my surgery I wish I had more control over but I don't. I can eat a small amount, I lost 100lbs. the first year, and then slowly I gained back some. I went thru a depression I felt deprived and was eating like a bird, I was tired all the time. Vitamins didn't make a difference. The reflux is bad, and I can't tolerate the nexium. People don't realize that it's not a quick fix, you have added issues. Yes, I love how I felt when I was 100lbs thinner but it doesn't last unless you exercise like crazy and eat like a bird, some of the Protein powders aren't tasteful. Maybe I need a support group/
  6. Yes, I wish I would've done it sooner, but I was scared and let fear take a hold of me, I am happy with my results I know I should've lost a lot more but I'm not trying to be model thin, I'm happy I got the 100lbs. which were causing me so much pain, I would do it over again I am very happy

    difficult getting to goal weight

Thank you for such encouraging words, I really needed to hear this <3
  8. I've lost 101 lbs. and I feel great and feel thinner somehow this week I have started to eat things I normally wouldn't I had some cake and I really liked it and today I had some more, I don't eat the whole slice I just have a taste but I can't help but feel bad afterwards I don't want to continue this way. It might be the stress in my life but that is not a good excuse I want to get to my goal, I just need a little encouragement thank you

100 poounds down in 6 months

that's a lot of weight you should feel so happy I on the other hand am not feeling so happy I noticed I only lost 3lbs in September I did a lot of walking and even started using the incline on the treadmil I've lost 59lbs. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong? Or if this is how slow the weight will come off? I had surgery on 6/13/13 I am happy with the weight I've lost but it sure is coming off very slow

  12. Congratulations on your decision to have the surgery it took me 3 years to be ready mentally. I also would get scared thinking about the surgery. After hitting 300lb on the scale it really changed my thinking I had a very good recovery my surgeon did a great job It was 3 months yesterday since surgery. All the fear will be replaced with feeling good, happy and loosing weight. Everything will seem overwhelming in the begining but you will get used to it. The liquid diet didn't bother me you won't feel hungry just be sure to follow your doctor's guidelines to the dot. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

    Reflux & the Sleeve

I had sever acid reflux before the surgery, but my main concern was being able to take my anti-depressants so my doctor agreed the sleeve was best for me I was so happy I didn't want the gastric bypass. After surgery I did experience sever reflux which went away 1 month after surgery so it's pretty normal to still experience it

    Second guessing

you didn't state your weight I had the same feelings 3 years ago and thought I could loose weight on my own I didn't I got bigger my highest weight 298lbs. I never looked at myself in the mirror because I didn't want to face the truth. But now I'm so happy I have my sleeve to help me with my weight loss I had so many excuses for not having the surgery that I still don't believe I did it and I will tell you it was all worth it I don't have any vomiting hair loss or passing out if you follow your doctor's orders you will do great. Fear of the unknown is the biggest obstacle to overcome. I didn't have high blood pressure, or diabetic everything was all good but my weight was out of whack. Best thing I've done for myself :tongue2:
