  1. I found this great site this weekend. Not banded yet. A coworker & I have decided to go through this together. We meet w/Dr. Michel Stephan in Mesquite, TX on Weds. (6/13). If you have any exp w/this surgeon, plz respond. Many thanks!

Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

And what a freakin coincidence I weigh exactly the same thing as my 6 foot 1 husband. If I wasn't gettin my band I think I might be suicidal. haaa, haaaaaa I feel your pain. I'm 5'2" and OUTweigh my 5'11" husband. My teenage son caught wind of this and now calls me BigMomma, which in turn has caused the 6 yr old son to follow suit. lol This is just MORE incentive to be banded. Hang in there, we're going to make it!

[Lynette617: This is my new addiction now, as you can tell by my 250+ posts I've made. I love hearing peoples stories, and that they've got a date to chane their life. It's an exciting place, and I just can't stay away, even for a day (if I do there will be 5 pages to read up on, you know)] Hey, addiction to this is better than Dr. Peppers. LOL I think ...i don't suppose anyone has tried to take your pc away, eh? I use to never get on the computer. Now my DH & son are mad b/c I'm cutting into their eBay time. LOL I was amazed at the amount of pgs to read from the last time I was in here. BUT, it's good reading.

Distant0098: Congratulations on your date (July 19th)! How long did it take you to receive a date?
  7. [Ange123: I was banded on the 29th june so I am six days out now. I was feeling great and now i also have hit a brick wall. brick in my chest and feel terrible bloated stomach. I hope I am normal. I have a post op appointment in 3.30 friday so I hope all is ok.] How did it go Friday? Did the heavy sensation in your chest ever subside? I hope so.

[Texgal, how were your appts? What about you Minnie? what's your status.] Thank you for asking. Btw, congrats on having a teen driver in your home. We'll be going through that w/our 15 yr old son very soon. LOL Appt went fine (although I had to commit to giving up Pepsi's & Dr. Peppers --LOL) The psych doc. took my file w/him on vacation .. (how odd) .. so my records didn't get to the surgeon last week. I was assured the records would be faxed to the surgeon on the 9th & then they will submit everything to BCBS. If I'm approved, then we go forward w/Nutritionist, Chest X-ray. Cross your fingers for me. P.S. I've had to log in here a few time to keep from drinking a Dr. Pepper!! I guess I "am addicted". LOL

[rkeithsgirl: . . .We really are lucky--there are some great ppl in this thread!] I concur! Lots of knowledgeable, compassionate, fun-loving people in here. You all just don't know how much support, encouragement and information I've received from you. Thank you for sharing your time here.

[I lost my head and I stopped and got fish at a drive thru for supper. I ate every last bite of it and washed it down with tears, because I knew what I was doing was wrong. I have been on my 4 week pre-op for 3 weeks and my surgery is next week (July 12). Today I feel guiltier than last night.] 4-week pre-op? .. if this is the 1st time you've regressed, you're awesome. My surgeon only requires a 7 day liquid diet. 4 weeks is a looooong time. Besides, your body ought to have that fish digested before the 12th. Just hang on GF & keep your eyes on the prize. It's only 5 days away!! :whoo:

I will just have to make sure that I EAT :hungry: everything in the house between tonite and sunday a.m. :omg: let's see i have brownie mix and one cinnimon roll. i am going to make tamale pie.. LOL - that combination ought to burn you out on food for a while. Nights are my worst time too. Hang in there!

    Band Date July 5th! Hooray!

Thank you for the link to your story. What an uphill climb it's been for you. I'm glad you finally got the surgery - your persistence paid off & now look at you, on your way to the "new you". Congratulations. Keep us posted on your progress. I'm just now beginning the climb up insurance hill. Wish me luck!
  14. I just saw on the news the other day about a new procedure that does away w/the need for lipo. They inject a substance using a needle that dissolves the fat. I wish I had more info. I can't even remember the name of the substance, but it may be worth checking into .. much less invasive than lipo.

Minnie - that's great that you get to knock out all the required visits in 1 day! Did your surgeon set up your appts w/nutritionist & exercise lady? I've done the initial consultation (6/25) & the psych evaluation (7/02), but haven't heard anything else.

Hi I'm new to the forum

Congratulations on your success Wanda. You look maahvelous! Jackson - i too have the joint pain = no real exercise scenario. That factor & my 28 yr track record of failed yo-yo dieting is what led me to decide upon the LB. The LB may not be for everybody, but after taking an honest look at myself, it's the tool I need to help catapoult me to a healthier, active lifestyle. Plus, my 6 yr old son is kickin my a$$. :faint: Your wife may be different .. she may be able to get past the dieting plateaus w/out the LB. I wish you best the both no matter what you choose.

Oh my, bless your heart. You have made great progress thus far! Thank you for responding.
  20. wow Donna - that's remarkable recovery. Your experience has given me some reassurance. Thanks for sharing & may the rest of your journey go so smoothly!
  21. will we be able to ride rides at Six Flags w/band? (i know this probably sounds stupid, but NOT being able to get on rides w/my kids is 1 of the reasons I'm even considering surgery as an avenue for perm weight loss) thanks.
  22. Good heavens! I'm not banded but trying to get there (jumping insurance hurdles at the moment). Ya'll are really scaring me. IF you had the choice, would you get the lapband again?
  23. texgal61

    Insurance

wow Faith, you are a storehouse of info! i just had the psych eval & one of the codes was 278.01 (so now I know that means GLB). Do you by chance know what code 309.9 means? Thanks.

    How Long Until First Fill

A woman in the waiting room at the doc's office was there for her 1st fill. Her surgery was 7 weeks ago.
  25. Thank you for your reply. I have since spoken to other individuals who concur w/your assessment of Dr. Barker. Thanks for the lead to Nova Body Solutions.
