I am in NSB, looking for any local support!

I had BCBS of Illinois, no problems, very simple due to the additional comorbidities. Of course, my out of pocket expenses were high due to a high deductible and only 80/20 coverage. Good luck.

5 months post op pictures and feeling great.

You look fantastic! Way to go, you don't even look like the same person. Congratulations! -
Anyone diagnosed with hiatel hernia?
momrox replied to re14768's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine was detected during the pre op endoscopy. Never had any symptoms and did not know I had one! Repaired during surgery, no issues. -
Congratulations!! I am exactly in the same boat with you, same exact stats but sadly, I do not ever think I will be in a size 10 jean! I guess my body shape is such that I am still in size 16 pants. Don't know where I have lost all the additional weight but I wish it would come off of my stomach or behind instead of my face! Still very happy for you and me!

Can't take credit for this as I found it googling ways to use Protein Powder but it sure was good and thought it was worth sharing. Protein pancakes Mix Vanilla Protein Powder with enough Water to make a pancake batter consistency. I used a small amount of coconut oil in a small skillet and pour in the batter, cooks just like pancake batter, sprayed on some butter spray and a small bit of sugar free maple syrup! Amazing!!! What a treat and a great way to use up the protein powder that most of us are tired of drinking and an awesome 27 gram start of protein for the day!

Hi June sleevers! Since I am not on Facebook, I can't join in but wanted to share some of the health benefits I have achieved! I know we all enjoy our new clothes and thinner shapes but the internal changes are really why we did this, right? So, I was sleeved on June 19, am down 55 lbs, feel great, lab work showed a 9 point drop in BMI, triglycerides cut in half since pre op and total cholesterol down 45 points! All numbers going in the right direction!! Yay!

Well June sleevers, it has officially begun for me, hair falling out pretty bad whenever I brush or comb and when shampooing. Can't really see the loss on my head but I am worried that will be next! Anyone else experiencing it yet? Sleeved June 19, down 53 lbs and feeling good!

Is this Sonic drink real? Sleever Friendly?
momrox replied to hope1106's topic in Food and Nutrition
Not sure about the sonic drink but I have had the sugar free slurpee at 7-11 and did fine. They have a couple of different flavors, pineapple mango and some lime flavor too. -
In the first few days post op I took diet 7-up and put it in ice cube trays. Once frozen, no more carbonation but all the taste. So for those of you craving your favorite sodas this may do the trick!

Yep I did the same and got mine a few days ago!

Someone on one of the forums posted this idea and I tried it this weekend and it is incredible. Mash up a banana, the riper the better in a bowl. Add a couple of eggs and some fat free milk and whisk it like you were making scrambled eggs. I heated some coconut oil in a pan and put a ladle full of the mixture in and they come out like crepes! So good, sweet enough to eat alone, but I put some cottage cheese and sugar free jam on top and it was absolutely yummy! Sort of like a cheese blintz!

Sugar Free Popsicles Instead of Ice, YUMMY!
momrox replied to rickyswife's topic in Liquids (stage 1)
Omg you were so right! This is brilliant! Thx so much for the idea! -
Thanks Amy, today the pain is better, just feel really sore still and can barely take a breath. Am taking in plenty of fluids and voiding well, so not worried about dehydrattion. Did not have any BM for three days but back to diarrhea today. I am just terrified that I pulled something out of place or did some internal damage. Today I stayed with mostly clear liquids but some full liquids and did ok. The Dr.'s nurse who is the only person I can reach does not seem to think much of any of it. They no longer have a NUT and to put it lightly the amount of support I have had from the so-called "team" is basically non-existent. I am really jealous of all the folks who rave about their docs/teams, etc and all of the support/encouragement. I think for my own peace of mind I am going to insist on being seen tomorrow just to be sure all is well. Glad you are feeling stronger, keep up the good work!

I have been in complete misery for the last two days. I was sleeved on the 19th, did great, had my one week post op, advanced to puréed. All was well. The next day I overdid it a bit with tooany errands and was exhausted. Had gotten a protein and veggie smoothie that had a tiny bit of honey in it, but only drank about an ounce. Came home had some soup felt fine until I got off the couch! Broke out in a soaking sweat, dry heaves, dizziness and total bowel evacuation. Had such sharp pains/spasms all night in my abd , just like labor. I passed out trying to get up to get my phone and came around on the kitchen floor. So, for the past two days the cramping and spasms continue, am taking pain meds every four hours, back in clear liquids and feel like an alien has been trying to get out of my stomach. I am now terrified to eat anything!

Hi Fellow one weekers! Had my post op appt today and all is well. I am still a bit sore at the incision sites especially after they took off the steri stips today. Otherwise, I feel really good, have had a couple of days of diarrhea but started on a probiotic today and also got my diet advanced to pureed so that should help. I am trying to walk at least 30 min. per day and of course just moving around the house as usual with chores, etc. Has anyone had any issues with numbness mid thigh? They told me today that is has to do with the way I was positioned during the surgery and should resolve in a few weeks. Including the two week pre-op diet I have lost 18lbs! So, happy with that and now just have to get used to watching all of the labels, carbs, proteins, etc and figuring out when/if I am hungry and how to manage all of the "have to's". Hope all is going well for the rest of you!

Hi, well it was a bit rough on night one. My BP went sky high even though I have never had any issues with it. Also ran a low grade temp so they kept me another night which was fine by me! Take fluids, no nausea but taking it very slow. Just a bit of gas and only one incision that is very tender. So, all I all I guess I am doing pretty well. Looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight! The coughing really hurts that one incision though! I have started putting an ice pack on it. Keep in touch!

It's my big day too! I am also in the pre op area! Best wishes to you and continued success to all of the other June sleevers! Thanks for all of the updates, advice and candid honesty! See you on the losers bench!

I am so glad you asked this question and even happier about the answers posted! I am scheduled for the 19th and this thought has really been bothering me, but feel reassured now! The next worry is how to keep busy for the first couple of weeks as I get bored really quick. Any ideas appreciated!

sorry, think I posted it wrong, but so glad that you are through the surgery, keep us posted!

I am so glad that you are on the other side now! How are you feeling?
