  1. Less invasive and long term results are just as good .

    Alcohol

I drink unsweet tea or use monk fruit but I had a huge donut this morning and no issues with that . It’s all very strange how some things effect us and others don’t.

    Alcohol

I get the hyperglycemia symptoms, sweeting, shaking, seeing spots when I eat Too much sugar . This is a much different feeling.

I’ve had dumping lots of times from eating too many sweets or even sweets on an empty stomach but the symptoms from that are completely different froM this. This is a head to toe miserable body ache . I imagine It’s what poison would feel like if it was moving through my blood stream but it only lasts about 20 mins.
  6. I’m 7 years post op but occasionally when I drink something sweet I get An all over sickness after just a couple of sips . It’s hard to describe except for complete misery . It lasts about 20 mins and then I’m fine . Other days I drink a bottle of wine and no issues at all . Anyone else have this or know why it happens only sometimes ?

    changes to...um

Yes that’s my normal. I’m 7 years out and deal with that daily .
  8. I had surgery in Mexico so I was able to buy whatever I wanted. As far as meals are concerned, I eat whatever I want but too much sugar or too much fat has consequences. Milk is an absolute no for me.
  9. I was banded for over 6 years, I lost all the weight but I was miserable and always stuck and in pain. The reflux was terrible. I had it removed and was supposed to revise to sleeve but I feel like my surgeon went very conservative because I weighed around 165-170 when I had surgery. 2 years after that and an additional 20lbs later, I revised to MGB and that was in April of 2015. The MGB was a huge difference for me from the band. I do still occasionally have foods get stuck or come back up but not often. The biggest issue with MGB for me is everything I eat goes through pretty quickly and as I'm sure you've read the stories, BMs can be a horrid experience. I was afraid to leave the house the first year but now it's a lot more routine (though I still have emergencies from time to time). I use IF and I work out 6 days a week to keep the weight off and I've had no problem staying within 10lbs of my goal .
  10. That’s insane ! I’ve maintained my weight loss for years. I eat anything and everything I want . I eat in moderation, I practice IF and I work out and I refuse to ever give up any foods I love . Your dietician is crazy !

    Return to work after MGB

I had surgery late Thursday evening, flew home on Saturday and went back to work Tuesday. No issues, a little tired but it was very manageable.
  12. I'm 5 years post op. I flux between 155-160 and I'm pretty happy there. I would prefer 150-155 flux but I eat whatever I want. I also practice IF and run 4-5 days a week to keep the weight off.
  13. Yep, this is my life too. I'm five years out. Thankfully it's a little more routine than in the beginning. I'm a member of a pretty big MGB FB group and this is just a common side effect for many of us. I hate it. There are times I have to leave work and race home (7 miles) to keep from using the restroom at work and I never leave home without poopouri but I remind myself this is part of the journey and it means my surgery is still working as it should.
  14. I’m 13 years out and I weigh 3x daily . I have a danger zone number, if I hit it I take action fast .
  15. Literally asking for a friend. What are your thoughts on MGB for a lower BMI patient, like someone with max 40-50 lbs to lose?
