  1. Just curious, how many were told to avoid NSAIDs and for how long ?
  2. Yes to the mini bypass actually. I don't necessarily believe that the surgeons are " blowing smoke " I feel some really believe it or base it on the information available at the time but we learn more everyday. I always said the same about the band too, I don't feel I was lied to or misled about the band in 2007, I feel that I was told what we knew at the time and obviously we know a whole lot more 8 years later just like we will with the sleeve 8 years from now.

    NSAID?

Thanks guys ! I've taken them as needed (maybe 1-2x a month) Since my surgery sept 2013 wth no problems. It's crazy how everyone has such different recommendations.

    NSAID?

    Ibuprofen is a NSAID
  5. You can surely see the difference in the two though, right ? I'm not sure at all what swelling has to do with the X-rays though ? I would bet money if I had an xray today it would be even bigger as I know I can eat more now than I could in October when it was taken. I'm revising next week and I'll definitely ask my doc more about what he finds when he gets in there and keep you guys posted

    NSAID?

Yes I know that different surgeons have different rules, that's why I'm asking. I was given any warning in regards to taking them and in fact was aloud to as soon as 1-2 week post op. I prefer to hear the general consensus, educate myself and then try to decide what I feel is best. I don't believe any one surgeon knows all there is to know and find it interesting that there are so many variations.
  7. The pic on they left is one day post op the pic on the right is one year post op.
  8. There are many reasons that people gain weight post surgery, yes some eat slider foods and liquid calories and graze all day, others stretch out their sleeve. I'm not basing this on what Iv read or who I consulted with I'm saying this having worked with a bariatric surgeon for 6 plus years and seeing xray proof of it happening.
  9. It absolutely can and will stretch if you're not careful ! Iv worked with sleeve patients for years and have seen plenty of patients gain weight back from stretching the sleeve. I myself am one of them and I have xray pics at one day post op and one year post op to prove how much it has stretched. Why do you think their are revision surgeons that now resleeve patients? Just be careful, don't over eat to the point of misery and avoid carbonation. My sleeve was a 42 Bougie and I had scar tissue as well which made mine easier to stretch but it happens to others too.
  10. Oh wow, sorry to hear that, if anything it should confirm that you are making the right decision to have it removed! Good luck and hope you start feeling better soon ! Thanks for the link, I actually just read that yesterday in some last minute obsessive searching for anything to calm my nerves ! lol
  11. Your date is getting very close now. Just want to wish you all the best for the op amd a speedy and uneventful recovery. Take care Chrissy Thank you so much!! I'm back and forth between excitement and terror right now depending on the day ! Lol

    April sleevers in mexico

It's very quick actually, I'll be flying back home Saturday night as long as all goes well ! Fingers crossed !
  13. It's prob easier if you do a quick search and then scan the images of full bypass VS mini but mostly it's less surgery time, less invasive (only one new connection to make) easier recovery and less risk of complication with just as good and most believe even better weight loss. The stomach pouch is longer (like the sleeve) but they do bypass a little more of the intestines (around 7').
  14. Just had my surgery with Dr Rodrigues on April 11th in Juarez. He and his team are amazing. Only thing is that the nursing staff does not speak a lot of English so if you download a translator app on your phone it makes it a lot easier to communicate. I'm only a few days post op and feeling great. That's great ! Thanks for the advice ! Any issues going through Juarez ? Did you feel safe ?Hi, no issues at all crossing into Mexico. It was quite the wait going across into Mexico, very busy place that boarder crossing. I did feel really safe the whole time. They even have a 24 hour security guard on the floor (I was on second floor). My husband came with me and he even went out to the mall across the street and did not feel unsafe at all. That's good to hear !! Iv been a little worried after reading how bad things were a few years ago ! It's a little overwhelming when you consider everyone worries about surgery, but add flying across the country, crossing into a foreign country in a town once known as the most dangerous city in the world and it's a little stressful !! Lol

    April sleevers in mexico

I'm on the 23rd, who did you decide on ?
  18. As if I wasn't already nervous enough , my family stages a mini intervention tonight to tell me how they love me the just the way I am and how the surgery is to risky and Mexico is definitely too risky and I don't even need the surgery. Let's just say I'm emotionally drained by it all.

    Sleeve and MS

I had a friend sleeved with MS and her recovery was slower and harder on her than most but she is doing well now. I had surgery Friday and went back on a Tuesday where as she needed almost 3 weeks off.
  22. Thankfully my husband has been supportive from the start, it's my parents and grandparents who are not. Right now, the 23rd can't get here soon enough ! I'm so ready to lose this weight !! Best of luck to you, he will come around when he sees how happy it makes you and how much better your feel
