Hi, I'm getting mine Monday (today!) too. Good luck!
I'm set for the 14 do I have any sleeve buddies? -
Well, here we go! I am due at the hospital in under 6 hours. I've got about 150 lbs to lose, I never dreamed in a million years that Aetna would approve the surgery. But they did!
I'm too excited to sleep; so, Hello 4AM! I am watching a super moving episode of Extreme Weight Loss, and it's reminding me how I have truly taken my health for granted. I'm feeling very lucky to have this chance. I hope I don't screw it up. Hey, there's some positive thinking!
Happy Monday to Everyone!

Congratulations!
Hey support famI am doing good so far no major pain. I have been walking a lot. It has been hard to get Water down. My incision areas itch and is a little sore. I have no desire for good or to drink anything.
During pre op every time I saw food commercials I would feel so hungry. Now I see good commercials and I frown it appears I have broken up with food right now & liquids and I are trying to develop a relationship ?de04?de04?de04?de04

Hi Holly and Inarakatra,
I'm scheduled for surgery on October 7. My surgeon has a 90 day program that I am finishing on September 17.My insurance allows the surgery after 90 days if certain conditions are met during that time, like close supervision by the surgeon and nutritionist.
So far, I've had a hard time being consistent in diet and exercise. I've lost weight so many times before that I suppose I'm a little jaded.I just want to get to the surgery soon!

That's great to her, Sue. I hope everyone's goes as well!

That is exciting! You already have so many requirements completed. I have to meet with the bariatric clinic every two weeks until September. The surgery should be soon after. I had the initial consultation and then my first official meeting with the nutritionist last week.
Are you continuing on your diet in the lead up to the surgery? Were you impressed with the people you met this past week?

My insurance requires 3 months of doctor and nutritionist monitored dieting before the surgery (6 months if I go with my own doctor, 3 if I go with the bariatric experts). So the first weigh in with them is considered my official start weight. I can lose as much as I want before the surgery, and it's still covered. I asked them to clarify again just to make sure I wasn't misunderstanding.
So maybe you should ask your doctor or even call the insurance company to see if you are in danger of losing too much weight to qualify for the surgery.

Now I'm really concerned. These experiences sound terrible!

I finally get it; I have to live without carbs.

Cindy, I love the frankness of your post. I think that one personality trait we all probably share is the ability to live pretty comfortably in denial of things that are right in front of our faces. We find ways to think around our food choices until we get what we want. So stating outright that carb are a goner is a big, big deal for one of us. And your declaration helps make us all stronger!
