I think it's OK to wait or slowly ease your way to exercise. The body takes a while to heal and learn to handle the kind of permanent calorie restriction we have to adjust to.

OP spoke in the kind of big generalizations ("I'll regret it till I die" etc) of someone who may not have understood that we are playing the long game when we have this surgery. Of course it's hard for a while. Things go wrong. The fundamentals of daily life are changed forever. But adapting is a lifelong process. After 10 years, I feel like the surgery will save your life; but it's up to us to make it a life worth living.

Surgeon has only done 26 sleeves
Kay__S replied to ChristmasJanet's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I absolutely would not go with a less experienced surgeon. This is too serious. -
That avocado oil intrigued me too. Great thread. I thought the lips problem was just me.

Amazing!!

The sleeve for sure got rid of my sweet tooth! I'm grossed out by sweet things now, and I used to be a total sugar addict. It happened immediately after surgery, and 3 months later, it's even more so. All i crave is protein.

I have a cup of tea with milk and a teaspoon of sugar, or I have a cup of half caff coffee with some naughty creamer in it. Today I had creamer flavored like girl scout cookies in my coffee. YUM

Does anyone else has this problem?
Kay__S replied to ag333's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I've found that the junkier the food is, the more of it I can eat. I only learned this over Christmas staying with my in-laws. Now that I am back home, I get full very fast eating vegetables and Protein like I'm supposed to. I keep absolutely no junk in the house because I'm a real addict when I'm around it. I really think you should see your doctor about getting on medication to deal with Depression. If you're already on medication, definitely look into changing it. It sounds like you are self medicating throughout the day. The right medication will be much more effective. I know this one from experience. -
Some people do. But my understanding is that the carbonation can make the pouch expand.

I found early on that sometimes I could eat something and other times I couldn't tolerate that same thing. It's wonderful that you tolerated the salmon. Just proceed with caution each time you have it. Factors affecting whether or not I could tolerate something on any given day included wound inflammation, time of the month, time of the day, how much I had to drink that day, what the last meal was, and, of course, how fast I ate and how much I chewed. It does get easier to predict eventually!

I got food-policed at 7.5 months out :(

This is so frustrating to read! I'd love to sit down and talk to him about this! Of course, I am in my own marriage, where both of us have weight management issues. So I can more than identify with the kind of interactions you're talking about. We used to have a similar argument over driving. Your husband is expressing his own anxieties, HIS fears, and they really are his problem, not yours. You are on your own journey. The only suitable response to his anxiety over your behavior is "Worry about yourself, not me." You don't answer to anyone but yourself. I have a banquet of responses I use when my husband projects his own fears onto me. They are quick and designed to end the discussion by turning the tables. But the gist of them is "Worry about yourself, not me." I'm going to stomp around the room now. -
I agree with what's being said here. I think what nutritionist was trying to explain is that whey isolate protein is the most easily absorbed. I can remember Dr Oz explaining this once long ago, too.

Question about Post-Op Weight Loss
Kay__S replied to neverbeenthin's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I've seen plenty of people say the same thing on here. I didn't weigh myself much in the beginning because I was really focused on just getting through each day hydrated. But considering the trauma done to the body during surgery, I am sure there is some short term Water retention going on. I know it's v difficult to do, but try not to rely on the scale in these early weeks. Your body is busy doing incredible things! -

Thank you for the update! I am so glad out worked out. -
Incredible. You look gorgeous!

I thought it was an incredible experience today to just have a bit of all the good stuff. This sleeve is amazing! And it was shocking to see how much everyone else ate. I used to out-eat everyone with 2 full plates of everything, and then I'd start on the leftovers as soon as everyone left. Gosh. The change is phenomenal.

I know it isn't the right weather for this advice, but in the beginning the only way I could tolerate water was as crushed ice. I called it water soup and had it in a bowl with a spoon!

Period Issues Post Surgery?
Kay__S replied to Disabledaccount's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes. After surgery in mid October, it has to taken me about 6 weeks to finally get my period. It just started today. Ugh.
