Actually they are Costco kiddy vitamins but since they are chewable it's almost like eating a sweet tart. Unfortunatly the % of diet numbers really don't make sense since they were meant for little kids. How many of those should I be chewing up? I currently eat 4 in the morning but I want to make sure my nutrition and vitamins levels are where they need to be.

I gave up my diet coke - but coffee is my friend for life!!!
-
My doctor told me the same also - until you stop losing weight or inches they don't fill - and you know I'm OK with that now. I'm almost 4 weeks and I feel great - I do fill up when I eat and you know what - I'm starting to really lose my interest in food as my primary past time! Keep going 1.5 lbs a week is great!

12 days til surgery and now sick
sharon replied to Feel2Young2B40's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The same thing happenned to me - and I still had a cough when I got the surgery. Unless you are seriously ill I wouldn't worry too much about the cold. Also this could be a little psychosomatic (I was thinking that when I got my cold 1 week before surgery) - you may have that little devil in the back of your mind "oh my god we won't be able to pig out anymore!". Just drink lots of hot stuff, get tons of rest and you will be as good as gold for the surgery. -
Heck no, I lived in N'awlins for 7 years and sucking head was the best part of the crawfish.

My Dr. said that if I experienced ANY weeping I was to call his office immediately. They should be able to repair the wound in office.

My "seminar" yesterday - this will be long, sorry!

I went to a seminar and not only was the surgeon there who explained both Gastric Bypass and LAp Band but also talked about the pluses and minuses. He also had his former patients talk about their experiences. He answered a ton of questions and he also had his nutritionist their also! Dr. Spivak was the first person who examined and he wanted to make sure that I was making the right decision and that my expectations for the lap-band were in line with clinical results. Ok I lied to him - I told him I'd be happy with just a 50lb weight loss - hell no I'm going for the gold!! Everyone has a different comfort level with their interactions with medical professionals. If you aren't comfortable or feel that it was very impersonal then perhaps you should "shop" around more. -
I know what you mean, I got my Visa bill for the month right before my surgery - I ate my way through Houston! Now is a different story - I haven't had to shop in two week and my freezer still has food.
-
I had some coleslaw a few days ago and it was fine - but I my jaw got tired from chewing everything down to the molecular level.
-
My doctor only asked that I go on a low carb diet as that would shrink the liver a little. Then I couldn't eat or drink 12 hours before surgery. It may have to do with starting weight (someone had mentioned making more room for the surgery). Regardless it's good to start if you can when you can.

I guess nowadays the only hot dog I have a real hankering for would be a Sabrette's Hot dog (New York) and since I don't plan on visiting N.Y. for a while I guess it'll have to wait. I plan on having a crawfish boil in 2 months - I guess I'll skip the sausage!

I have no idea what happenned but "trolls" seem to occur time to time on Boards. I also belong to a Mastiff board and a neighborhood board. On both boards certain members did have to get kicked off since they misrepresented who they were (also known as Trolls). These people seem to get their kicks by pissing everyone off and stirring up trouble. Ignoring them did no good and the administrators eventually locked them out. It's a shame because on a board such as this, people are are trying to share some very personal information. I for one love this board!!! -
It's been at least 3 weeks since I went last and I did the whole workout and I feel great! I'm going to sleep good tonight!

The nice thing about Curves is that they are EVERYWHERE and you you can get visiting privileges at other locations. It's kind of fun to see the differences in shops. My favorite one was in San Francisco. Then I decided to walk back to the hotel - ooh boys those "hills" almost killed me.

Yes, I called my Dcotors office to schedule a fill in two weeks and the first thing the nurse asked me was if my weight had stalled or if I wasn't losing inches. I just got the band two weeks ago and I've lost 14lbs so far so she said nope - I'm not ready for a fill. I know I have a restriction becuase I am eating a fraction of what I was eating before and I feel FULL so I'm going to just chug along, watch what I eat and watch the pounds go bye bye.

I have United Healthcare and it took one month to get approved. Now I'm just waiting to see what actually gets paid!! I did however also have a hernia that was repared during the surgery. Hell I wouldn't have even known I had a hernia if it wasn't for the upper GI required.

I think the only annoying thing is the gas (does this ever go away?) bloat and tension where the stitches are - but beyond that everything is going fine. I went for a nice walk with my dog today and tried to be active at least once an hour. Otherwise I'm psyched - and waiting for the weight to start rolling off!

What's "PB" - I've seen everyone use it, but for some reason I can't figure out that aronymn - Post Banding?
-
Congratulations - that is such an accomplishment!!!
-
I like with mayonnaise and thousand Island dressing.

Although I'm only a week into begin banded I have now discovered the wonderful world of gas (which I NEVER had before). Gas-x chewable mint flavored is pretty good - I always have a supply handy in my purse!

11 days after surgery and eating normally
sharon replied to rachel's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
In a practial sense we will be doing double digestion (moo moo says the cow); but it's our little pouch that will be doing most of the work. I would stay away from refried Beans for two reasons - that stuff is so high in cholesterol it's mind boggling and the last thing you want to do during the first few weeks is eat something that promotes gas. However beans in general are goood just eat the ones you know won't blow you up. As for calories, the first four weeks are considered healing time so keeping you calories between 1000 and 1500 is fine. Remember, even though we will be forced to eat less at one sitting this doesn't guarantee weight loss; the band is a "tool" that you can use to help lose weight. If you eat high calorie food several times a day you are not going to see a lot of results. Probably everyone of us is starting of with either one or combination of high blood pressure, cholesterol, tryglycerides, etc. There is a ton of healthy food you can eat during the mooshie stage and it's great preperation fo what you should be eating afterwards. -
I ate Jello the 4th day but only because my firend had made me lime jello and yeooooowww that was gross. I have an Atkins chocolate (the kind in the can ready to drink) drink every morning, great source or Protein and Vitamins and it tastes great!!! No gritty weird after taste.

By day 4 I was walking, driving and doing light yard work. It all has to do with you, your bodies reactions to the anesthesia, the new band, etc. Remeber lots of water - you have to stay hydrated.
-
You're beating yourself too much. If you "fall of the wagon" don't try to make it up by doing drastic reactions - NO SKIPPING BREAKFAST. Take that deep breath and plan out your meals, get rid of any residual crap that would tempt you and take a nice long walk. You've done so well, no self flagelation!
