    Mixed feelings

Yes worth a try. I used to always ask for a table when we went out to eat so I wouldn't be embarrassed If I couldn't fit in a booth but now I can and don't ask for a table. I have a coworker that's been by my side thru this whole thing and she's been telling me good things and all. It helps. But so many years of being overweight doesn't get out of your head to easy.

    Sleep apnea

Hi, I had sleep apnea for years. The only mask I could tolerate was the full face shield. When I could keep it on it was wonderful. It kept me from falling asleep all the time. I could not wear mine all night though. I had a restrictive lung problem also and had trouble breathing so the mask was off and on. But it's a lifesaver

    PICC line question

I had to have a pic line after surgery also. My veins were so bad they couldn't keep sticking me time after time. All your Iv medicines shots bloodwork will all come from this line and you won't feel it. It was a blessing. Already in tremendous pain after surgery not getting stuck so many tines .
  4. Hi I'm 7 months out, have lost 157 pounds so far. Still want to loose 51 more for my goal weight. I've had some stalls. Have had lots of stomach pain at times that puts me to bed. ( I cry like a baby) When it happens my husband has to help me get to my room. Usually when it happens I've drank to fast, so those of you out there please take it slow. I've been home all day, really feel I've eaten a lot, but put everything in my fitness pal and its 543 calories. I won't say I've never swayed from the diet any because I have. I've had a bite or two of pasta, rice, or bread, at times. I've had a few chips here and there. But I do not drink carbonated drinks. No sweets, no fruits, I'm good about making sure I get my protein in first of all.if I can spare a few calories is when I might eat a few chips or some popcorn.believe me even when I want to splurge my tummy won't let me. I've seen a lot of posts on here about what people do, eat, how much. You know. Sometimes I can't hardly believe they could actually do it because my sleeve really let's me know. But.. Everyone is different and it effects everyone differently.

    Before and after pictures

Usually for breakfast it's a half piece of sausage, and a half slice of cheese, lunch normally about 2 ounces of grilled chicken or fish, a bite or two if something like potatoes, snack 5 or 6 roasted almonds or a spoonful of peanut butter, dinner if I cook something for the family I can eat a little, of make a lean cuisine but usually only eat less than half. I drink tea with Splenda and water with the flavor squirts in it. Sometimes I treat myself to a little popcorn or a granola bar, but I am not a sweet eater I tend to go the opposite. Definetly know when I have eaten something too much or drank too fast, stomach gives me awful cramps. So I try to be very careful to not do that. Don't like the pain.i could never handle the protein shakes so my doctor just told me to do my best with eating.

    Before and after pictures

Thanks everyone. To be honest I don't really get to work out yet. Occasionally go for a walk. I work full time as a restaurant manager, and have 2 year old twins, so time is very limited. I get up at 430 every morning go to work and when I get home I don't stop til I get to go to bed and by then I'm exhausted I fall right to sleep.

    Challenges

Hi I just wanted to say that having the sleeve was the best choice I could have ever made. I had my surgery July 8 th my start weight was 338 and now I am 212 as of today. It hasn't been without its challenges though. To me this was the most painful surgery I had ever been through. I ended up back in the hospital a few days after I was released because my body was rejecting the drain tube. Any one who says this is easy don't really understand what we go through. The way you eat and drink changes forever. You eat one bite too many your in excruciating pain. You drink too soon after eating your in excruciating pain. Then there's the dumping syndrome I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. Most of the time I am fine and doing well, then other times I want to eat and can't. One bite or two and it hurts. Don't get me wrong it's not bad all the time. But it's a learning process. Your body is changed and you learn what you can and can't do. Most of the time the hunger in not there but sometimes you just wish you have one bite of something that you know you can't have. If anyone wanted to walk a day on our shoes I bet they would never say this was the easy way out again. As for me, my health was in jeopardy and I have twin 2 year olds to love for so that's why I had the surgery.

I can wear an 18 now, but all I had was 22,24 26 and my shirts :x or 5 x. I've worn them and still try to waar them but my husband saw me walking down the hall with my 2 year old behind me pulling down my pants cause the were so baggy and my drawers were just hanging. He said baby go buy you clothes. I could not bring myself to buy much but I got 2 pair of pants 2 shirts and some panties.

    Sick day

I do have some. It's the kind you put on your wrist. I didn't even think about that. Thank you. I will try that.
  19. This is absolutely horrible. Such horrid pain. And it don't stop til you've emptied all bodily fluids. You feel nauseous. Feel like your going to pass out, then when it's over you have to lay down because your completlely drained. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.

    Dumping syndrome

I think it was because I ate a bout 3 bites of a salad. Did not use low fat dressing because I knew I was only going to be able to eat a couple bites. But... Guess that was definetly the wrong thing to do.

    Recovery

I did. I was in excruciating pain. Could not hardly get up to go to the bathroom. Day 3 started feeling a little better still bad pain though. I ended up back in the hospital because my body was rejecting the drain tube. After that was out a couple days later was do much better. I'm 3 weeks out Tommorow. It does get better. I'm much better now. Still achy, much more energy.
  22. Hi I'm just about 3 weeks out now. I was wondering if anyone else out there was having the same problem I am. I can't drink my protein shakes because they taste way too sweet. I've tried several different ones. My sugar free drinks, Popsicles, everything like that are tasting too sweet also.
