Had pre-op. just waiting for op date! :)
Kathy Jo replied to tashman's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good for you, you will be up and running in no time (well, maybe not running)! Spending the night in a motel tonight as our AC stopped running yesterday afternoon. Can't get someone out to work on it until tomorrow. Had to come back home long enough to take care of my dogs. Take care of yourself and keep us update. Kathy -

I want to tell you one other thing. You MUST make the mental adjustment, preferable before your surgery. If you don’t you will find yourself frustrated and wondering what you have done to yourself. Have your “food supply” ready before surgery. Keeping a good mental attitude will make all the difference in the world to you, you’ll see! -

Hey Tasham! First time in two weeks I've been on the computer, we've been out of town. So you got your letter!! Won't be long now and you will be amazed at what an easy surgery this is. I saw my Dr. the day we left town and he said I was "doing great." I told him I felt he hadn't done much of a surgery on me as I could still eat anything. I thought I'd be sick if I took a bite of anything forbidden but not so. He said I could eat anything I wanted too, I'd just not be able to eat much of it. And that is true, few bites and you can feel your stomach telling you "I'm though!" Make sure you are taking your vitamins and have plenty of protein handy. Keep me updated, I'll be thinking of you. -
Good for you! Sounds like you are doing great!!

Diacouraged ... Gained a pound
Kathy Jo replied to Denn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My Dr said he didn't care if I gained weight right now, my body is healing and I need the protein so not to worry. I told him I'd have a heart attack if I gain weight after this surgery! My surgery (sleeve) was 5/15 and so far no problems. -

I'm eight days out and doing very well I think. I get to have that drainage tube out in the morning and for that I am very glad. We're going to our daughter's home for the weekend and I already have "food" in the car. Pack sugar free jello (which is not my favorite) and the sugar free pudding plus my porteine drinks and I'm ready to go! Today when my husband got home (he works fourteen days a month at home and fourteen days a month away from home) we went to a place to eat and while he got the tradational food I got the wonton soup with out the wontons! So ever at this stage we can still do things we like to do, like Chinese food, -

What does you Dr. say about this? Sure doesn't sound right does it! I'm a week out from surgery with no problem,(except for the fact they sent me home with that drainage tube still in and it won’t come out until Friday) I'm on a full liquid diet, not sure for how long but it doesn’t matter. I have the mind-set that whatever or however I’m in this “forever” and I’ll get it done. Do talk to you Dr asap. You shouldn’t be hurting like that. -

It only took two weeks before I was given a surgery date, which was ten days later. I thought I'd have more time than that. Of course you're nervous, take a deep breath! Everything will be ok and you will be alright! (I'm in the USA) -
sleeved may 6th..this is tough!
Kathy Jo replied to Sophia ♥'s topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Don't you think a little depression and anxiety comes along with this? I had a lot of anxiety before surgery, which was a week ago today, but it was the fear of the unknown more than anything. Even though I had researched everything I possible could there was still a little anxiety. My energy level sure isn't very high right now but I'm still on a full liquid diet phase of the program. I'm wondering if you need to see your therapist (I was required to see one before my surgery). If you don't have a "mind set" for this he or she can help you though it..Don’t be second guessing yourself, you wanted this so embrace it and work with it and give it everything you have! Good luck and keep in touch! -
YUM....Sugar Free Jello Temptations Mousse
Kathy Jo replied to May142013's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery was one week ago today, I have a fridge full of the sugar free jello but can't seem to down it. I am however, able to eat the sugar free pudding. Hope you are doing well.
