Hi' date=' all!I hit 95 lbs lost this AM! 95 lbs in 8.5 months of being sleeved, 145 lbs total lost (50 lbs kept off from lap-band).
This was after my 3.1 mile run in the heat and humidity of central FL yesterday. I felt strong, powerful, and so thankful for my sleeve. It has helped me to become the person I was meant to be![/quote']
You look amazing!,,,

Hey' date=' AZ senior...I'm due for my sleeve on november 7th. Thanks for writing this. This morning, I was watching the sleeve surgery videos and reading @ the pain nd decided NO way! I'm 66 and too old for this kind of invited trauma. Now you chime in just when I'm thinking negatively. Other thing thatg happened was a doc who swims at the same pool as I decided to tell me what a great thing I'm doing by coming to the pool so so frequently. So we chatted nd I told her @ the sleeve and sh encouraged me, too. Gee, we have a saying "meant to be"...I guess this was a sign that it is indeed "meant to be".How much are you losing and are you still on Clear liquids? How is the reflux? Do u have it???[/quote']
Hi rosy,
,my feeling is that I will be 60 next year. I want to be a different person when I reach that milestone. I've spent my entire adult life at some degree of overweight. Maybe the last 20 years of my life can be spent at a normal size.

To phantom - the band is no picnic. For me, it doesn't do what I expected. For example, they claim it makes you feel full. It doesn't. It just stops food from going in. So I will eat two bites, have to stop, but still hear my stomach growling. But junk food slides through with no problem. So I was a slow loser, didn't lose half the weight I wanted to, and have recently started gaining. So I am thinking about other options.

I had bariatric coverage when I got the band years ago. Well I had to fight and fight but in the end they did cover it. Anyway, I have since changed jobs and health care plans and have no bariatric coverage. It is hard to get the surgeon to agree to see me to discuss revision options. So if anyone can recommend someone, I'd be grateful. Thank you.
