Hi old friends!! Wow I haven't been here in so long. It was a long 2007 and not a very good one. I had several family menbers pass away including my mother. I seem to be so busy that I don't find time for my friends on LBT:frown: Sorry. I do miss talking to everyone. There seems to be a LOT of new names here. WOW the list has grown!!!:Banane22: It wasn't a very good year for me and my band either. It is working fine but I have found ways to eat around it. I am a big emotional eater and have been very emotional this past year. Don't get me wrong I still LOVE my band and it has done a great job for me. 135lbs gone.:biggrin: I am trying to get back on track with eating and that yucky thing called exercising:eek: I do have a exercise room set up in my house with a tredmill and a bike along with hand weights. Now I just have to get in there and use it!! As some of you know I am disabled and can't walk without walking aids. BUT THAT IS NO EXCUSE!!!!! RIGHT? Well I just wanted to re-introduce myself and say that I am still hanging in there. I hope you all are having great sucess.

Hi everyone, Thank you for your prayers and well wishes!!! I had surgery at 7:30am Friday 15th. Surgery took 1 1/2 hours and then I was in recovery for another 1 1/2 hours. I guess I got kind of angry when I was waking up because I am told that I pulled out my IV'S.:omg: I remember thinking that I couldn't breath and then they were giving me a breathing treatment. One nurse told me that the anesthesia caused my Asthma to act up. What? I don't have asthma. They figured it out and just had to calm me down. Oh well I can now breath just fine. LOL I was put in the short stay wing of the hospital and was well taken care of. I needed NO pain pills at all. They kept asking "are you sure?" Nope I don't need them!! I was up walking (with walker) within 1 hour.My nurse said I was the BOMB!! LOL BUT again just like my last surgery I COULDN'T PEE!! Had to get a straight cath to empty my bladder. Then after that I started peeing on my own.:clap2: The same surgeon that put in my band did this surgery also. He said that my GB looked angry:angry and that while he was in there he went up and took a look at my band and everything there looks great. I can get a refill on the 26th when I see him for my post-op appt. I left the hospital the next day (Saturday) at about 2;30pm. I stayed that late only because they wanted to give me my last round of antibiotics before I left. The trip home was a little hard and I was wishing for some of the pain pills I turned down. Today I am fine with very little pain. I could go back to work tomorrow BUT I'm NOT! I am going to take another me day!!! Well again Thanks.

It feel like I haven't been here forever! My life has been very busy lately and it seems like I can't keep up with my old friends here at LBT! :cry I hope everyone is doing better than me. I REALLY NEED ALL MY FRIENDS HERE TO GIVE ME A GOOD HARD KICK IN THE A$$!! I just can't get back on the losing side. I am staying about the same but I NEED to lose about 50 more lbs and I just can't get back on the band wagon. I don't exercise at all and I don't make good choices with my foods. I kick myself every night and cry about my terrible choices but does it help? NO!! Every morning I wake up and say "today is the day!" Then somewhere along the day I seem to forget my today was today and not tomorrow. Why is it so easy to say tomorrow? Don't get me wrong I still LOVE my band and have no regrets. I have lost 120ish lbs. I have been stuck at 185lbs for about 6 months now. I know it's my own fault but I really want to lose more. I know I can do it. ok get ready now..... KICK ME!!!!! Thanks for listening! :kiss2: :kiss2: :kiss2:

Myra and Tracy, Thank you so much for your replys. I think that I am going to look into going to a gym near my work. It's called Fit Chicks. Two of my friends go there and maybe thats what I need. I have a bike and a tredmill here at home but can't seem to use them much. I am currently in a size 16. I wish it was a 12!!!!!!!!!!! I am VERY short only 5' with shoes on. But I have to remember that I use to be in a 26 pant and they where tight! I WILL DO THIS!!!! Again thank You!!

Hi Manzanyta, I have had nothing but the BEST experiences with Wendy Hall and her daughter Tammi. I have had a total of 6 fills and unfills with her and she NEVER misses my port. She does not use fluro but she always does a great job. She is registered with "Fill centers U.S.A." Her cost in snowflake is $75. I think you would like her. Good luck

I am new and need all the help I can get!
coyotegirl replied to J.R.'s topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi welcome to LBT!!!! I am not really sure but I think I have heard of some getting their gallbladder out at the time of banding surgery. I'm not sure so don't quote me. I had my Gallbladder out in Sept. this year. 1 1/2 years after banding. Good luck!!! -
I feel like I have been gone FOREVER! So much Sh*# has been going on in my life for the last couple of months. August--Very sick, Pain, throwing up. September-- Still sick, Losts of testing done at hospital, 5cc removed from band. Didn't help! It's the Gall Bladder. Get it taken out on September 15th. Think everything will be better after healed from surgery. Get refilled to 5ccs again. Too tight get one taken out. Then I get a Terrible head cold that turnes into a bad sinus infection and ear infection. Band starts to tighten up so I can't eat. I start thinking that I have a slipped band or something. Then on October 15th my Mother falls and breaks her hip. So off to surgery she goes. She is home now but in a lot of pain and needs lots of help and tlc. We have home nurses comeing in and helping us a couple of times a week. They are wonderful!!!!!! CAN'T EAT AT ALL! I go for about a week and a half with very little food and throwing up a lot. Then I can't even get water down. I go to see my surgeon and have an upper GI, blood work and lots of other tests done. BAND IS JUST FINE!!!! I was super dehydrated so they gave me 2 bags of IV fluid before I left and took out all but 1cc from my band. My numbers on being malnurished were droping so he told me to not count calories this week. Eat whatever I wanted but don't over do it. It's been fun.:hungry: My surgeon said that my band tightened up because of me being so sick for so long. I will get a fill again in about a month. My goal is to lose some weight without help from my band. (crossing fingers) I'm feeling GREAT now so I hope to be here more often. I really need you guys and your support!! Thanks for listening. :kiss2: :kiss2:

You all are the BEST!! Thank you so much! I started back on my counting calories today but I didn't get on the scale. Way to scary after the week of eating I just had. :thankyou: -
Are you getting your fill with Wendy Hall? If so I know she goes to the valley once a month. It's somewhere in Mesa. You might want to call her or her daughter Tammi to see when she is going down. I live about 15 miles from Snowflake.

Personal Question About The Surgery?
coyotegirl replied to Chris1982's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They put a cath in me after I was under and took it out before I woke up. But I had some trouble peeing after surgery (went 20 hours with out peeing) So they had to put it back in. I couldn't go home until I could pee on my own. I soon did and went home. My Dr. said that some times the anesthesia can cause this. -
Jackye, I had an IV in the back of both hands. 1 was for the normal IV's and the other was for "just in case". I quess they wanted to be prepared if I tried to die on them. I also had to wear these funky boots on my legs.(for blood clot prevention) I also didn't have to do a bowel prep. and I was cathed. They took it out before I woke up along with the breathing tube. I don't remember either one. BUT I had trouble with my bladder after surgery. I went over 20 hours without peeing. I thought It was because I wasn't drinking very much and hadn't since 10 oclock the night before. I wasn't thinking about the IV's they were poring into me. (oops) When they found out they had to put a cath back in. They wouldn't let me go home until I would pee on my own. I was on a liquid diet for 13 days before my surgery. It was not fun but I did it. I didn't want anything to mess up my surgery. It was only to be a 10 day liquid diet but I got a UTI and they had to move my surgery back 3 days. I lost 11lbs on that diet!!!! I can't really think of anything else you might want to take. Maybe some cd's or a Mp3. Not sure whats on tv over there. If I can think of anything else I will let you know. (((hugs)))

DON'T FORGET YOUR LIP BALM!!!! It's what I needed most beleive it or not. I didn't take a night gown because I used their gowns that have the snaps on the shoulders because of all the IV's. But I am not sure about Mexico hospitals. :girl_hug:  :juggle: Don't forget to shave your legs LOL LOL LOL :laser: :woot: :woot:

Hi, I can't help you with the Dr's. but I wanted to welcome you to LBT and the wonderful journey to band land!!

EVERYONE is different but it took about 4 or 5 fills for me before I had good restriction. I also was very hungry after surgery and thought that I had wasted my time and money on the band. Just hang in there and you will get to your "sweet spot". Today I have had so many fills and unfills that I can't really remember how many fills I have had. I was up to 6.5 in my 10cc band but had a unfill because of gallbladder troubles. Had my GB out and was put back up to 5cc and that was too much so I am now down to 4cc and doing great. Who knows? This band of ours has a mind of it's own!! Just hang in there it will get better!!! :girl_hug:
