I ran 2 miles this morning. Pretty pumped up about it, as I was shooting for just one but kept on running (felt a bit like Gump). At the beginning of the year, I could barely walk a mile. This has been a life changer!

I have now lost more weight, than I have weight to lose (lost 89 lbs; 88 lbs left to lose). I guess on the journey of weight loss, I'm now over the hill! Still have a long way to go. This forum has been a huge part of the journey, and I thank each one of you for being a big part of it!

Congrats on your decision. You will be fine and your way in no time. Remember to walk as much as possible (which may not be much) after surgery!
-
Congrats on all your success thus far, and welcome to the sleeved life!

Started off w/ walking (which is encouraged), but after two weeks moved to running. Now doing eliptical and running. Haven't started working out yet and I'm 10 weeks out, but I'm cleared. I'm focusing on cardio right now, but understand I need to step up weights (nothing heavy; just to tone).

That is freakin' awesome! Congrats on the great work! -
I try and keep below 50 total (not net) carbs a day.

I get a runny nose when I'm full, but I've noticed I've been sneezing a lot more.

Today starts my liquid diet
vinniej3 replied to jennietop's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First off, don't be alarmed. Your feelings are completely normal! My first two days on liquid pre-op were difficult, particularly the head games. I cried on my way home from work both days. I couldn't believe I was about to give up so many foods that I loved. It was like there was a voice in my head that kept screaming for this, that and the other. Rather than giving in, I kinda took a crazy approach and named that voice in my head (for me, it's Bubba). And every time Bubba started craving pizza, or a cookie or a coke, I'd literally talk to myself and tell Bubba to hit the road. I'd say we're under new management Bubba and you've got to go. I know people were walking by my office thinking I was crazy, but it has really helped with the cravings. If you can get past the second day, every day gets better from here on out. I lost around 15 pounds on the pre-op, and the better you do pre-op the less risk of a surgery complication. But more importantly, I think the pre-op diet really trains you from a mental standpoint to be prepared for the surgery. I hope this helps! -
6 miles today; 67 miles for the month!
