Packing for overnight hospital stay
vinniej3 replied to sdrussell22's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My most important items were (i) my pillow, (ii) a pair of pajama pants (so I could get up and walk around) and (iii) my slippers (so I could get up and walk around). Good luck tomorrow! You're going to do great. -
I'm in for October! Glad Ted got this started. My name is Vince.
-
Made it over 100 miles. Congrats to everyone!

I know I've seen a lot of posts about "onederland," but I thought I'd post about getting to twonderland (pronounced with a "tw" as in "twix" or "twin"; tonderland doesn't sound right to me). Yep, for the first time in 4 years, I weighed under 300 pounds (299.8, but 2 looks much better than 3)! What a great feeling! Got to keep up the work! Thanks to all of you on this site. Each of you is an inspiration to me, and you all have been a huge part of my journey!

I'm at 93 miles. Should meet the challenge! This has been great, and I can't weight for next month's challenge!

Will The Sleeve Help Us Keep It Off?
vinniej3 replied to Mid West's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm relatively new in the process, as I was sleeved on August 5th. I think this is the ultimate tool for weight loss, but I can't say that it is a "cure all." At the end of the day, successful weight loss and (more importantly) maintenance is all on the individual. As poster above me stated, you can lose all the weight, but if you get into bad habits (constant grazing; terrible food/drink decisions, etc.), you will gain it back. The sleeve is an outstanding tool, but like any other tool, you have to use it correctly for it to work. You can have all the tools in the world, but those tools won't build a house by themselves. I guess what I'm trying to say is that ultimate success or failure does not lie w/ the sleeve, it lies with you. -
82.5 miles. Work and life and trying to get in the way this week, but I'm going to hit 100.

Congrats! Great job.

3.66 miles today; total of 73.79 miles.

Every journey begins with the first step... you just took it. Congrats and good luck!

20 pounds in 2 weeks

Can't wait to see the results! -
Congrats lsu... keep drinking that water! And don't be kind to Auburn this weekend. I'd love to see y'all lay about 50 on them (if my wife saw this she'd be upset).
-
I'm a little over 70 miles today. If I can keep up my average of 3.5 miles a day, I've got this thing nailed. Y'all are keeping me motivated (note the y'all... yes, I'm from the south)!
-
I weigh daily as well, but it's more out of habit. The real test for me are my clothes. I'm 6 weeks post-op and I have cut my wardrobe drastically!
-
This is amazing. You are truly an inspiration. Keep up the good work and congrats on your journey!

Hang in there LSU. Went through the same thing a few weeks ago (and I'm sure it will happen again). Very frustrating, but the good news is I have lost about 12 pounds in the past week and a half since the stall! As far as the 100 mile challenge goes, I'm at 66.28 miles. I'm going to be cutting it close, but I'll get there!
-
Isn't it a great feeling? Congrats on the awesome results thus far. Guess what... it's only going to get better from here. Work the program!
-
Awesome scale victory and NSV! Keep up the good work.
-
Will, I can't speak to the job issue because I don't have enough facts. However, weight wise, it's clear you're anything but a failure! Your loss thus far is amazing. Hang in there and just breathe.
-
Keep working the program and you will nail this.

2 weeks out- 18 pounds down!

Congrats! I'm so excited for you. Keep up the good work! -
Do not apologize... that's why we're here. Best of luck w/ everything during these trying times. You and your husband are in my thoughts and prayers!

Most important thing for me was my own pillow!

What an awesome story. I completely understand where you're coming from re: weekends. It's something I really have to focus on to make sure I don't lose it all (or should I say gain?). Congrats on the article and the journey. It truly is an inspiration.
