Would You Have Weight Loss Surgery Again?
Bob Loblaw replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hell yeah. 3 years out and still 140 pounds down. It's hard work, no doubt, but counting what I eat and walking 3 to 4 times per week has kept it all off and I feel 63 going on 33. I feel better and am more fit than when I was much younger. -
Nov 2013 Sleevers Progress So Far...
Bob Loblaw replied to soonerorlater's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I reached my goal of 195 this summer and I've maintained under 200. My chief tool that has helped me is to remember to log every single meal even if I cheat. It helps me stick to my overall calorie and protein goals. I've been able to enjoy food I want while stabilizing my weight. I use Lose it but my fitness pal is good too. Good luck -

I'm down 78 pounds and several clothing sizes. Feeling great, except for some numbness in my calves that my doctor can't identify. Going to see Captain America tonight, I do miss the popcorn but I will be taking a bag of pistachios in the shell to keep me busy... -

Why Am I Still So Hungry?
Bob Loblaw replied to Aug2ndsleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Guess I'm fortunate. I'm almost 3 months and I have no hunger at all. I eat when I want to, and can go 4 or 5 hours between meals and have to remind myself to eat. I'm pretty sure my sleeve is rather small... -

November 18th surgery down 47 pounds. I don't walk as often as I should but still 2 to 3 times per week. One thing I've noticed is that in the last week my old psychological food issues have started to peek out, wanting to eat when I'm not really hungry, wanting to eat larger portions than the 5 ounces I can currently fit. I'm going to have to continue to work on my demons! -

Congrats Soonerorlater. I was sleeved on November 18th, I had to return to the hospital due to a stricture, couldn't keep Water down without vomiting, now I'm home and on Protein shakes still (yuck) can't wait until the soft diet next week. I return to work on Monday, and as of today I am down 29 pounds since the preop diet. -

I had my surgery on Monday and felt great. The next day i was released but could not hold anything down. Horrible acid. My upper GI revealed that the stomach sleeve wasn't leaking but was passing liquid very very slowly. I ended up back in the er and back in the hospital. Im still here but hope to go home tomorrow. Not an auspiscious start. Anyone else have this trouble? -

Hi Amanda, My surgeon is Dr Johnsrud at St.Joseph in Orange. He's a cool guy. I actually know several people who got gastric bypass with Dr, Laport and swear by him. Thanks for the OH YEAH tip, where do you find those? -

I'm in Orange County and I'm getting sleeved on the 18th. All liquid 2 week diet and I'm really hating the Bariatric Advantage shakes! My nut doesn't like generic protein drinks because they are not "meal replacements". Glad to hear your surgery is a success! -
Anyone else starting pre-op diet tomorrow Nov 4
Bob Loblaw replied to Gelica's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yup. I start my liquid protein diet tomorrow and my surgery is also on the 18th. I'm nervous, but excited. My nut said to drink the Bariatric Advantage shakes and they are just alright. I'm wondering how I'll be feeling in a few days... -
Will be sleeved in less then 24 hours!

Congrats! I am getting sleeved on November 18th. Unlike you, I am terrified...
