I'm usually ok with taking pills as long as I drink a lot of water with them. I switched to the gummy bear chewable vitamins and there is a also a children's vitamin powder that you can stick in a water bottle like Crystal Light. Everything else that I can take is done in liquid form. Tylenol, NyQuil, Theraflu, Sudafed....all are liquids.

Congratulations! That is awesome!

What do you love about your band surgeon and their practice? *Very patient and understanding. I was completely embarrassed in the beginning that I was even considering this as an option but he didn't look down on me and answered anything I had. What do we do well? *I was very well informed. I was very impressed by the amount of information I was given and even the tour of the outpatient center prior to the day of the surgery. Meeting everyone involved prior to the surgery was also a huge plus. The day of the surgery, I was so nervous that I think my teeth were chattering. It was nice that everyone came back in to introduce themselves and to make sure that I didn't have any more questions. They also made sure they introduced themselves to my parents and that they didn't have any questions either. Everything is also right on time. I've never been kept waiting long, either for the surgery or for an appointment. What could we do better? *I was disappointed, as were my parents, that no one had come out to tell them that I was through the surgery and that everything had gone ok while they were in the waiting room. Maybe also another meeting with the nutritionist after the surgery a couple months down the road, just to reaffirm that everything is still going ok and that any other questions could be cleared up once having more experience with the band. I would also like to attend the support meetings but it's only held once a month and on the same day and time. Unfortunately my work schedule doesn't allow me to make it but if there was more than once a month or maybe switch up a day, it might help those who can't make the other one. How could we improve your customer experience with our practices? *I am quite pleased with the office. All of the staff are very nice and are completely willing to share their experiences (as most of the staff have been banded). I think that it helps a lot to have at least one person working there that has been banded - they can give a lot more insight than a staff member who hasn't been. Everyone has always been very polite and professional. They also notice that you've lost weight and are quick to tell you that your jeans aren't fitting anymore. :huggie:

6 months pics of the Junies (June 07 Bandsters)

Everyone is looking awesome! I still have a couple days before I have to post mine so I'm trying hard to get a couple more pounds off. LOL Dan - You're smokin'! -
Hey all! Glad to know everyone is doing well. Y'all sure look good. Sorry about the skin issue to those who have it. I have a skin cream from Avon that is supposed to work pretty well. Fortunately (well, kinda unfortunately) I'm a slower loser so I'm hoping I don't have to go for a body lift when I hit goal. I might look at getting a boob lift though...sure aren't where they were when I was 21! LOL Soooo, I went out with a coworker on Thursday night to her husband's work party. I actually felt like I looked decent enough to flirt, dance, talk to strangers, all that good stuff. A guy was goofing off and was flirting back. :Banane20: Amazingly enough he called yesterday and I scored a lunch date! Had a great time at lunch....but for whatever reason...I'm thinking nerves...I threw up three times! Sooo not happy. Had to explain to him about the surgery and I hadn't wanted to go there. I was completely embarrased. I was eating slow, not eating a lot, was empty except for tea when I had gone to the restaurant, chewing well. Was only eating chicken. So I'm not sure what happenend but it was one of those incidents that I was barely making it to the bathroom. Anyway, he was completely cool about it. He's also a paramedic so maybe he was just used to stuff like this. We walked around after lunch, got starbucks, and headed back home. Golly, it's been a looong time since I've been on an actual date and it was awesome (minus throwing up). He's extremely hot and made me laugh the entire time we were out. He opened every door possible and even opened the car door for me. I felt like a giggly school girl but hid every part of that until I got home and called one of my girlfriends. :Banane20: He asked to take me out again and for the finale, I got a good-bye kiss! :clap2::whoo: (I carry a small tube of toothpaste and a bunch of gum so it was all good on the breath part.) Have a great weekend everyone!

That sucks m'dear. I've tried looking too as far as causes for the port to flip and I haven't really seen much except for exercising right after surgery. Did your doc suture your's in place? I asked mine at one point because I thought it had moved from when I run on the treadmill. (I'm always afraid I'm going to fall off so I run against the bar - which is right where my port is.) He told me it was held is place with four different sutures and that it would be almost impossible for me to move it without some effort. Let us know what you find out on causes. Good luck to you though!

At/Close To Goal...Most Comfortable Port Position?
FarmerE replied to kland's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Mine is also right above my belly button and to the right side. I can feel it if I push for it but I don't feel it any other time. -
So... Ya wanna see something pretty cool? (WARNING! Surgery pics)
FarmerE replied to TxArcher's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That is pretty cool. My doc also took pics and gave them to me as a gift. I told him it's probably the same picture he gives to everyone. -
I had also *hoped* it would work because I was spending $15k for another *diet* plan. I wasn't exactly sure how it would feel and didn't really believe that I wouldn't be hungry. Just kinda believed that I'd be hungry but not able to eat.
-
I haven't started it back up yet but had planned to. My nutritionist recommended it just because of the support and the accountability too. I'd be careful mentioning the band though. From others that have posted, some WW groups don't look too highly at having it done.

To post a Private Message to someone, go to UserCP at the top of the page...same place as where you would put in your signature. On the left hand side it'll say about private messages and to send a message. Click that and it's pretty easy after that. To look for someone, you can go to the main page and scroll down alll the way at the bottom and it'll show a list of people online. Or you can click the search button on top and click the "Advanced" part. It'll do a part for the users too. You have to know at least part of their user name and not their actual name though. As far as I know (I could be wrong too) you can't search by real name.

I'm in for the six month pictures. No laughing though. Mine will be up Dec 27 since I'm the only person in the world without a digital camera. I had my first unfill yesterday. Monday's fill ended up being waaay too tight to the point where drinking liquids was kinda rough. Didn't want to give up the feeling of not being hungry though so he only took a little out to help with the acid that seemed to be creeping up in the back of my throat. Hopefully I'm either at or very close to the sweet spot! YAY!

Do we get a handbook when we get inducted to the oldies? Or a pin or something? Secret handshake? But I'd be fine with just being able to pick on the newbies. -
