    Memorial Day Challenge

Would love to join this challenge! Count me in I will post tomorrow as Mondays are my weigh in days !!
  4. I weigh myself every morning. However I only count (log) what it says Monday morning. I'm 7 months out and I've been doing this since day one. Once I get to my goal (15 lbs to go) I'm going to try once a week.

    Soda flavor

Interesting ! Good idea but how much sugar would be in it?
  6. Hang in there, it does get better. I took nausea meds too, but only for a week and was better. I didn't have trouble drinking fluids but it did make me get an upset stomach
  7. You are right. Sometimes people leave out the HW, SW,CW,GW indicators and it's misleading and/or confusing. I totally get counting the weight loss before surgery, we've earned it! But, if one is going to count that loss, they must also count that TIME. They may be 3 months post op, but the weight loss is actually beginning several months prior. It's disheartening when someone says they are 3 months post op and down 90 lbs. It's good to keep it all in perspective. Comparing drags us down. I completely agreed time should be added , that's why when doing the "comparing thing" you should list stats. I know it's funny to see someone say 3 months post op down 90 pounds lol. We are all here to help each other that's what this is all about! Everyone is different so to do the comparing can and is disheartening !
  8. Don't be late for work.....lol I know what you mean about the jabs but sometimes people just cross the line on their comments especially when you are new and believe they have been through the ringer and have all the answers. I don't mind giving advise or talking about an experience but some people have the nerve ya know. Have a great day !!!

  10. WOW!!!! That is why people post HW SW GW CW..... Everyone is different in how they want to look at there loss !!! I've personally feel I work hard either way so pre or post op so a loss is a loss to me and I'm sure many others look at it that way
  11. I had a glass 4 months out. I was fine just be careful don't over due it

    Hungry

Mind over matter! Drink water or have a protein shake, walk around the block once, go on bariatric pal. Keep your mind busy. I use mind over matter all the time. Especially at the gym. I always say to myself "it's your mind giving up not your legs". Then I just push through it.

    Eating and drinking "rules"

I would imagine that would include a snack ! You want to keep the protein in your stomach as long as you can

    Vitamins

Personally I would check into bariatric vitamins for the first 2 months. Bariatric Advantage, bariatric fusion or celebrate vitamins, they are geared towards bariatric patients. Your not required to take "bariatric" vitamins but I highly recommend them. Also make sure you are taking calcium and b-12 melts. I took liquid calcium I got at the vitamin shoppe. Oh and I know that wal-greens does carry a bariatric vitamin. Which when on sale you can get it BOGO half off. Good luck on your journey !!

    question for new sleevers

It is your decision but will you be able to go through this process with non supportive people? I personally only told my best friend and when I got my date that's when I told my parents, not that waiting would of changed their thoughts but it didn't have me dwelling on their comments. Ultimately they were very supportive. Maybe have them go with you to a bariatric support group where they can listen to people's stories and ask questions themselves. Good luck to you and this amazing journey. It will all work out

    tall female sleevers...

I got to normal BMI (160) in 10 months. The last 15 took about 4 months Awesome I'm struggling now with these last 17 and noticed I've been eating more but I believe that I am eating more because I'm working out a lot. Again congrats that's a job well done

    *September Sleevers Check In*

    Surgery date 9/12/13 HW 280 SW 268 CW 192 -88 pounds 17 to go
  19. I went through the whole pre op process with only my best friend knowing. When I got my date I told my parents which they suggested I tell my brother which I did but not by choice. I then told another close friend and no one else. After like 2 months out I told one more friend because she was my drinking buddy and was wonder why I wouldn't go out lol. I actually just told my 12 year old son yesterday. He said I thought so because your eating habits are exactly like that doctor talks about on my 600 lb life. I'll tell ya this kid doesn't miss a beat. I was 280 highest weight currently 192 7 months out 88 down 17 to go:) So I guess it's your choice for who what when and where. I also say smaller portions high protein and exercise. I'm not lying just not telling all my weight loss secrets !

    Need advice

It's all in personal preference. Do research online. I went with the sleeve because I didn't want any rerouting of my intestines and I didn't want to take off 6 weeks of work. I'm 7 months out down 88lbs, 17 to my personal goal of 175. My doctors goal was 205, pasted that awhile ago! I totally agree.....you get out of it what you put into it. Example maybe a bad one lol, maybe to much info but it's the week before my period and I want a frosted cinnamon roll and yes I ate it but after I went to the gym and worked out longer. I know that's bad but I justified it, now the guilt sets in. So now more work in the gym tomorrow. I never was a sweet eater and now I crave it but I believe my "diet" is missing something, maybe magnesium. Just keep in mind everyone is different, do your research compare them, you might even consider going to a support group and listening to other patients talk about their experiences. Good luck on your journey!
  21. Please don't take that stuff the wrong way! Your entitled to your opinion you'll see when your 6+ months out, you'll completely understand where we are coming from and by no means is it meant to hurt your feelings. Were just coming from a place of love and concern for our follow sleevers
  22. I'm 7months out ! So no I'm not stuck on anything I just think those foods work better for me. Don't get me wrong I'll have a chip here and I've tried and have had fries but to revert back to old ways would definately not be an option for me now Maybe on occasion but..... You shouldn't really have fried anything
  23. Chicken anything! Chicken is not my friend ! I can pretty much eat anything but I tend to stick with a chosen few foods that I constantly eat alllllllll the time. Chili, egg salad, tomato soup, quest bars, deli turkey, any kind of cheese and Greek yogurt ! Not much variety but keeps me within my limits
