My surgeon was Dr Mehta in New Brunswick. Might be a little too far north but he is amazing! I have not been sick or had any complications whatsoever.

I remember losing about 6-7 lbs & then tried to eat very little in the days after. It was really hard though and I would go back to old habits real quick

Afraid of vomiting when I start liquids (really afraid ????).

That was my biggest fear as well before the surgery. I also researched in the forum and found some tips that really helped me after surgery. First, tell them before the surgery that you get very nauseous so that they give you some extra medication for that. I got an ear patch right before the surgery. Second, smell alcohol when you're starting to feel nauseous. I got a little nauseous when I got my first drink after the surgery, and I smelled some alcohol wipes and felt fine right away. You can ask the nurses for the alcohol wipes or take your own. -

I wish I hadn't told anybody, but maybe that's just because I'm a private person. You have to do what's right for you. -
Is that the 3 day diet? I've done it before and it does help you lose some weight since its low calorie. I remember just looking forward to the ice cream at the end of the day lol

May Sleevers...where are you?
fatsincebirth replied to bvenegas's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was feeling really tired for the first two weeks after my surgery. I got my delivery for some sublingual vitamin b12 and I feel like that has helped a little. Are you taking a vitamin b12 supplement? -

Sleeping 45 degree, for 4-6 weeks!?!
fatsincebirth replied to lauragp74's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
My surgeon didn't mention anything about sleeping. I slept on my side the same day of the surgery and would place a pillow on my side to support my stomach when I got home. I've been sleeping on my stomach starting on week 3, no issues. -
Sleeved this morning

Awesome! Keep up the good work and following your surgeon's orders. Welcome to the losers side! -
Has anyone had mashed potatoes 2 weeks postop?
fatsincebirth replied to nickbel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon only required 7 days of liquids. I had mashed potatoes with melted cheddar cheese on my 8th day, added milk to make it a little runny, and didn't have any problems. I even told him and he said that was fine, as long as it's runny. I only had about 2 tablespoons and felt full. -
May Sleevers...where are you?

I was also sleeved on the 26th and I'm not having a lot of gas pain anymore, but when I sip on any liquids I feel like it gets stuck at the end of my esophagus for a couple of secs and then I can hear it squirt into my stomach lol so weird. Has that happened to anyone? Also my air conditioner is making my throat dry and makes me cough. My incisions hurt when that happens but I'm mostly concerned that I'm going to cause a leak. -
Howdy! I'm being sleeved May 26th as well. My doctor doesn't require a preop diet which I'm happy about but a little concerned. What about you? I'm really excited and can't wait but sometimes I get really nervous like I can't believe I'm doing this and I hope I don't regret!
