Leave your comments below if you want to be friended into the July 31 sleever club! And give up something that is making you excited and something making u nervous. Me? Having the time off of work and coming back drastically changed and the drainage tube being pulled out. I had one with gall bladder surgery and that is the worst pain I have ever felt....

So my bf and I calle it quits tonight. I am almost 3 weeks out. He gave my blodd thinner shots but other than that has not been supportive. He has acted like my recovery is my being lazy and that he "is doing everything". He has let the house get dirty and I have still had to do laundry and take the trash to the street. I am bot an airer of dirty laundry normally, but now i don't have the ability to eat through the stress. It is so easy for everyone to say "good riddance" and ditch him but it is a hard thing to end a relationship...especially a live-in one and we just took in his nephew. Ugh!

Freaking out a little - topped 700 calories today
Patti K replied to swimmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I consistently eat more that 700 and I am only 3 weeks out. As someone with little funds I am stuck eating the same things over and over fr soft foods like cheeses and refried beans which are higher in calories. I am still losing though! It beats the 2500-5000 I used to consume in a day. -
I can all of a sudden eat more at 5 wks post op...Im scared....

For the last couple f days I have been eating a bit more two...but guess what! I lost 5 pounds in those two days! Since I had only lost 14 since PAT I felt my body finally felt satisfied and was able to release fat! Lol -
My phone vst cut me off: and plenty of fluid. Lol
-
Well, since my PAT which was 2 weeks BEFORE my surgery. I am now 2 weeks out so in exaclt one month of liquid diet and post-surgery I have only lost 14 lbs. granted, I ate 3 times during my 2 weeks liquid diet (hello I am human and fat) and I began soft foods before the Dr wanted due to my reading other people on here being allowed to. However, I still am only eating 600-1000 cals a day. My Dr says my body is holding on due to the dramatic calorie shift and soon it will speed up. Exercise helps. I have arthritis in my knees so I get only short walks in right now. As the weight drops I can go longer. I just walked a mile and my knee only slightly aches. Hoping for a one or two pound loss for today. I ate 1000 calories and got 70g of protein and

Your welcome! I am going to try the egg salad next!

No muffin mix. The eggs and stuff bake and make a "muffin". In that it is muffin shaped.

I just saw I type BO instea of BP! Hahahahahaha
-
I had the exact same issue! Mune was the pain med which I hardly used but every time I did it caused a headache. Also noticed it happened when I napped without y cpap. If u aren't using one maybe u are not getting enough oxygen due to the low BO and pulse. Ask to be put on oxygen and see if that helps.

Bigger than the rest....
Patti K replied to MrsAnders's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started at 451. I was 409 before surgery an am now 397 2 weeks post op. i started to really feel better after 30 pounds down. At over 500, I think the sleeve will change your life even if you only lose 200 pounds. BUT, they say the average amount of weight lost in the first 18 months is 60% of the weight you need to lose. At about my height, for you that would be 220 lbs. Only about 60% of people reach their goal weight but even if you get below 300 you will feel AMAZING! PS: we always get discouraged when we jave so much to lose and we lose a bunch and still have so much to lose, I have so been there, but celebrate every pound that comes off instead and follow the plan and don't think about what still has to come off. It is a new way pf thinking my counselor is trying to help me adopt. Good luck!!! I wish you many pounds lost! -
Oh I had similar ones. One of the reasons our bodies hold onto the weight and we needed this surgery. My PCP said that 80% of her fenale patients she referred for WLS had period issues similar to mine. And the bariatric surgeon said the surgery and weight loss would fix it. We shall see. I am doing alright. Losing slowly but surely and hoping for no 3 week stall! I am in week 3 now! Well, the beginning of it. I am out of the 400's and that will be forever!

Same here. I am 37 and my ivnisions are healing nicely and i never had an issue swallowing big gulps. I never did the sipping.
-
I am hoping for the opposite as I only lost 12 pounds from pre-admission testing day (which began my official liquid diet - since I had a new surgeon to the program he started me before that) to yesterday' 2 week post op appt. i want my three weekark to be when my body finally starts letting go of the fat!!!
-
My physician's asst at my two week follow-up just said the opposite. She said that we can't see the stomach to see how it is healing an to bit go by how well I am healing externally. She cited my incision pain as proof. My outer incisions look really good but my inner incision still smarts! She said it isn't healed as much as the external ones. I have to view my stomach the same way. I am supposed to be on thick liquids but I am on purees and soft because I am already intaking 100+ oz of liquids and over 60 geams of Protein and still feeling hungry. Today I had tuna twice and pureed a can of peas that I finished throughout the day and a can of tomato Soup made with Water and I was satisfied with no Protein shakes. Tbh, I needed a break from those!

Heightened senses after Sleeve
Patti K replied to FRED1977's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My taste has changed. I can taste sweeteners now and they taste chemically. Splenda is the only one I can stand and where before the sleeve I had 4 in a large McDonalds iced tea now I do 2-3. -

Wow. Your's is the closest program to mine and so far away...
-
What hospital? Mine is St. vincent's in Cleveland.
-
My hospital's program is over-cautious (their own words) so two weeks post-op is liquids. I have been on liquids for a time before surgery too so I think that caused my need to experiment. Plus, I would bot recommed it if you are not etting plenty of fluids and protein as is.
-
It was nice to chew. And was nice to have something other than sweet.
-
I am going to admitthat I have experimented with softfoods already. I am on a 2 week liquid and was dying. I was intaking 90 oz of fluid (no joke - oncluding the shakes and soup) and 60 grams of protein and was having hunger. I had a movie date with my nephews and they wanted Chinese. The lady did not charge me. I ate broth, a small piece of crab, a small puece of chicken, and a quarter of a small chicken meatball. And I felt Full. Satisfied full. No pains, no discomfort. Just blessed relief! Lol. And it was not enough to keep a baby alive! Lol. I chewed everything into a pulp and everything was super soft. I have been reading this forum and some people sleeved only days before us are on soft foods already. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. PS: hummus and mac n cheese would e amazing!

My surgeon and the hospital said if my temp ever hits 101 to call. That's my advice!
