I'm good. I was discharged today. Feeling good but energy runs out quickly with little ones. I can't wait to get the drainage tube taken out. -

I had a VBG in 1994. It was a type of WLS surgery that isn't really practice anymore because it doesn't work. (Vertical banded gastroplasty) -

I was sleeved on may 22. Well I was a revision from vbg to vsg. Doing well in keeping my fluids downs and the meals provided. I can't for the life of me drink the horrible shakes. Omg they are horrible. I like the EAS carb control protein shakes so I will do those when I get home. The worst part for me was having the NG tube for 3 days and now the drainage bulb on my side. But it's all for good reasons. One day at a time. I'll be glad to be out if the recovery stage and seeing some actual weight loss. How long before we seen some down numbers -

I finally feel good. Since I was a revision from a vbg to vsg, it took them 4 hours to do my surgery on Wednesday. I had a lot of scar tissue plus a conversion from a vbg to vsg is not always easy and usually they end up doing a by pass, so i feel very fortunate. They finally did the UGI this morning and no leaks and out went that nasty NG tube. Yay. Had my first meal and no issues there either. I will be staying here till Sunday and I'm ok with that. Wondering how the others are doing.

I have not had any issues drinking my broth or liquids. I'm happy about that but make me wonder why I've read how some have difficulty drinking. I just sipped on a 4oz juice and 2 oz broth, with no difficulty, am I abnormal? I guess that I'm questioning why I don't feel full.

I was Wed too. I did a lot if walking and really didn't struggle to much with it. I mean I feel the pressure down below of the gas coming out but not painful. I don't think you are a wimp. We all react differently. Till 12ish I was having serious depression because of the NG tube. Now it's out and I feel much better. One day at a time. Have you been walking? -
Remember it's not all pounds. You are losing inches too.

Anyone not take pain meds after surgery? (this is a constipation thread)
Alyjourneys replied to NMJG's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hate them too, however I was in so much pain from NG tube that I asked for them. Now that they took the tube out today , I'm good to go. No abdominal pain so far. I'm 2 days post op. -
$25000 Surgery Cost, what did you pay?
Alyjourneys replied to NewYear'sSleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, you pay your deductible plus your percentage. I paid my deductible and my 10%. The insurance covered the 90% -

Any Miami, Fl Pre-sleevers?
Alyjourneys replied to beachsleever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love Dr Jacobs. He was my first choice but Jackson south wasn't on the blue distinction list. I met with almost all the surgeons. Whitewall, DelaCruz, Jacobs and due to the ins situation, I'm going with Rabaza. They are all great surgeons. But there was something special about Jacobs. Well tomorrow is my day. Maybe we can one day meet at one of the support mtgs. -
