    Lifting restrictions

Nothing over 5 for first two weeks. Nothing over 10 for weeks 3 & 4. The worry is about your sleeve, the surgery sites and hernias.

    Is 2-3 ounces my normal

I'm 5 weeks out and I eat 600 cals Max a day so far. Not sure how many ounces of food I consume, I just eat till I start feeling that full feeling. I also drink at least one protein drink a day to make sure I get my protein in as well as help with the liquid counts.
  3. I have found warm water to go down way easier then cold for some reason. It feels weird to drink plain warm water but my tummy handles it much better then cold.
  4. I'm only 5 weeks out so I might not really qualify here. I can say that the best thing this far is digging out clothes that I would have bet you they would be too tight only to find them to big to wear. The worst thing at 5 weeks is still trying to get in my fluids as well as working on teaching my brain not to fall back into stress eating habits. It all takes time and I'm forever grateful that I have had this opportunity.

    Help please

Don't be afraid of your pain meds. Take them if you need them and take it easy on yourself. There is a lot you are adjusting to and the first week is very hard. The pain meds allow you to relax so your body can heal, a very important step in the process. Good luck! Hope you are feeling better today.

    PREGNANCY DURING PRE-OP....HELP!

I am 4 weeks out and I have a now 15mth old. It was/is crazy hard to recover with such a little one. Not impossible but very hard, I was not allowed to pick her up for 4 weeks. I couldn't put her to bed, in her high chair or in the car. I had to have someone with me every day in order to take care of her. All for fear of getting a hernia which is yet another surgery. If I would have realized how hard that would be, I would have waited at least another 6 months.

    asking a crazy?

I find I can drink warm water best. I would think if you are so constipated that you would feel full. But the water is going to relieve the constipation. Don't forget to walk, walk, walk. That also helps relieve constipation.

    feeling guilty

No guilt. Part of this is learning moderation as well. I find that tracking every single thing not only helps me stay on track but also helps with the guilt if I just plan ahead. Then you can eat a little of what you like, not go over board, and still lose weight while feeling good about yourself.
  9. That first week after surgery, the good smelling food made me so miserable because I wanted it so bad. At 4.5 weeks after surgery, I have no interest even though it smells good, the thought is gaggable.

    Greens salads etc...

Spinach I was fine with. I had an awful reaction to Broccoli. Not fun!
  11. I'm only 4 weeks out but I hate the sugar free stuff. And the margarine or fat free "butter" sprays. All that seems counter intuitive. We are learning to treat our bodies better yet putting the chemicals in. Makes no sense.

    Loose skin ?

Along with my 4 week old sleeve and exercise, I'm going to try the body wraps by It Works to get these bat wings under control along with my excess, thanks to my babies, tummy flab. Check out http:/:cmomentphoto.myitworks.com if you want to try it with me. A tank top would be fantastic to go along with my 26 lb loss so far!!

    Out of work?

My doc said at least 4 weeks before I could pick up my own 1 yr old daughter who barely weighs 20lbs. You don't want to risk a hernia and then have to have more pain and more surgery.
  14. That first liquid stage is the hardest. No other way to put it. At this point just try to remind yourself that you can do anything for a short period of time. Hang in there!

    Worried....

Don't forget that everything is swollen after surgery. Your new sleeve is also swollen which is why it gets easier to drink as you heal. Hang in there and take a deep breath!
  16. Hello! I am just over 3 weeks post. Ever since my surgery I can barely tolerate being a passenger in anyone's car. I have gotten very car sick on a couple of occasions and almost always beyond nauseous every ride. Even watching a car moving on TV makes me ill. Thoughts?

    Down 48 pounds

    Nice job! Congrats!!

    Acid

It could be gas also. Try eating smaller portions more often. You can still get heartburn if you pack your sleeve with too much. If it continues, you should call your doctor.

    What to have ready...

Make sure to have broth or strained chicken noodle soup. Anything with a salty flavor because you will tire very quickly of all the sweet stuff. Plus I found I tolerated warm drinks better then cold. Also be aware of the possibility of car sickness, especially if you are already prone to it. I am almost 3 weeks out and I still get very car nauseous in the car. Take breaks and keep your head up good luck to you!

    I miss carbonation!

Sugar free or no sugar fudgsicles are AwESOME!
  21. Try drinking smaller sips or only swallowing part of the liquid in your mouth. Then when that passes, swallow the rest. I'm almost 3 weeks out and it most definitely does get better. Good luck!
  22. Hello! I was told at least 4-6 weeks. I am almost 3 weeks out and one of my incisions is still a tad open and I'm fighting an infection. Soooo, while it is tempting, don't rush it. Good luck to you!
