Hello everyone, I started my pre-op diet today. 2 weeks of protien shakes, green salad, and chicken. I use EAS vanilla protien powder (23 g per scoop) with 1/2 cup frozen berrys (black, blue & rasberrys) and 1 cup of Carb Control milk or soy milk plus 1 scoop of Benifiber. its around 250 calories and the berrys make it taste like a treat. The chocolate is pretty good mixed with the Carb Control Chocolate milk. My biggest problem with this diet and all the other ones in the past is head hunger. How do you get over that?

Hi Randy, I'm feel for you. Never been in a coal mine but I worked 3 shift for years. Thank-God I don't have to do that any more. I had some close calls on my forklift on Sunday nights after staying up all weekend. Of course I have mellowed out since those days. Rode around town today, got wet coming home. Pouring outside now. Guess I'm done for a few days. Looks like we are back in the monsoon season again! Ride as often as you can and keep the sunnyside up!

Hi Chimboree, I'm glad your feeling well enough to sit at the computer. Hope you get rid of that infection soon. My surgery date is the 24 with Dr. Ortiz, fly in for Pre-op test on the 23. No telling what I put in previous post. Thank-you for doing the calender. It is sooooo cool to know I'm not alone in this! I am self pay and my loan came in today!!!! Full speed ahead! Hi Phyl, I know right where Colcord is! I have a good friend that lives there. Small but seems to be a pretty close knit community. I hope he likes it there. Good luck on your surgery. I'm doing good. How about you? Just went for a ride around the neighborhood on my scooter for some fresh air. Hi Phyl, It was a great day here in Okla. for a ride. I rode my Harley to OKC this morning! So you still have a child here, do you get out here very often? We moved back here 19 years ago to have kids. I love being around family but I sure long for the mountians. When are you being banded?

Hi riders! Its been a great day for a ride in Oklahoma today. Lots of sun for a change! I rode to OKC and all over the city and back by myself, had a great time going where I wanted and enjoyed just being in the wind. Sure helps to blow out the cobwebs! Looks like summer has set in. Hope tto get to ride more often now. 15 days till band day! I can hardly wait! Take care all and keep the rubber on the pavement.

Hi all. Its been a great day here in Oklahoma. I have had a day just for me! Went to Sam's and picked up my fav berry blend and some yogurt. I start my pre-op diet tomorrow. Does any body know if it is ok to put berrys in my protien shakes? Or how many carbs are allowed? as for the question about clothes in an earlier post.. I want to wear a leather jacket and chaps that are made for women... straight off the rack! as for what I'm thankful for... A loving God who helps me make it through each day. 3 healthy bueatiful kids. A husband that hugged me today and said he loves me no matter what size I am! What's up with this swollen looking PG stomach thing? How long is that going to last? And what can I do to get rid of all the gas? Thanks everyone who replied about the pre-op diet... I'd call you by name but I'd have to go back soooo many pages to find you! I'm thinking I need to do the 12 day plan with one soild meal. The way I have been eating I should have no trouble losing 10 lbs. I am so ready to get this done. I need a tool that will help me to not binge. I slept right through the 4th on a self induced carb binge. Not good for my blood sugar. as for the question in an earlier post... yes I've been ashamed and embarrased by being overweight. My DH can just throw on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt and look great while I change clothes a dozen times trying to find something decent to where that doesn't make me feel like a cow. He say it doesn't matter to him but it does to me. I know I will feel better and look better 70lbs down from now! Take care everybody. Renee

"I have decided to do this, and to get my weight under control once and for all because I have recently been diagnosed with type2 diabetes, I have high blood pressure, sleep apnea and sore knees and back!! I know I sound like a wreck but actually I am quite healthy, I exercise everyday and I do have a lot of energy, I just love to eat. I eat for emotional reasons mostly but I also enjoy food and I am a very good cook!! I enjoy baking and make up alot of recipes" I'm being banded on July 24th. Hello Lucky# Sevens, I have a date! July 24th with Dr. Ortiz. Bought my airline ticket today and paid my deposit. I'm so excited. I am ready to get this over with and quit grazing like I'm never going to eat again. I think I've heard it called the last meal syndrome only mine has been going on for about 2 months now. I have a choice on pre opt diet - 2 weeks of 2 protein shakes and a lean cusine or 1 week of all protein shakes. Anybody have opinion on which will be easier to stick too? any body else going to Dr. Ortiz on the 24th? Renee

When are you having your surgery? I'm flying out from OKC on 7/23/07 surgery on the 24th. Bought my round trip ticket on Yahoo Travel for $226. Gook luck. Renee

Thanks Randy. Sign Joy up! It will do wonders to build her confidence and skill level. I had been riding for years when I took the class. I wouldn't say I thought I knew it all but I sure thought I didn't need a Basic Rider Course. I was so wrong, I learned so much, like how to use the front brake correctly, cornering, the box....the list goes on and on. Once she has her M she can test drive all the new bikes out...fun fun! Cindi, that is one sweet ride. Makes me want to get out and clean mine up! Hope to ride to class this weekend if the rain ever stops. I don't mind the rain so much if I'm caught out in it but I hate starting out in it. Anybody coming to Okla. for the state Hog rally this fall? Renee

I just found this thread. I'm glad to see bandsters are riding! I have not been banded yet. Setting the date for late in July in Mexico if all goes well. I ride a 97 HD RoadKing. I live in the rain forest just north of Texas, better known as Oklahoma. LOL We are about to float away! I'm not complaining though, It beats the heck out of the drought we had been in. My 20 acre pond was down to a mud puddle. I'm glad to see some of you had a rider saftey course. I am a MSF instructor with Oklahoma Rider Education Program. I've been riding for most of my life. Behind my hubby for years till he bought me a 1200 Sportster for my birthday 12 years ago. It felt top heavy (and babysitters were a problem) so I traded it for a Ultra and bought a sidecar so I could pack the rugrats with us. Sold it last year to a friend with 3 kids so they could all join us on the road now that my oldest 2 can ride their own. My moto is " The family that rides together stays together" I can totally relate to the post about riding to eat. That is pretty much what we do. 3 kids and many restraunts later I need this band! well I've rambled on long enough. Ride safe and remember to put sidestand down as many times as you put it up! <p>Hello everybody. I'm looking for people who had a BMI of less than 35 before surgery. I'm 5'6" and 207. I aready have Diabetes, high blood pressure, high Colestoral and hypothyroidism. I have lost about 10 lbs since the Doctor put me on meds but the weight loss seems to have stopped. I ask my doctor about having lap band surgery, her answer was I'm not fat enough. I then ask what I can do to get off all these pills she has me on, her answer was to lose 60-70 pounds and become a vegan. Now I have been trying for most of my life to lose weight, how does she think I'm going to do it this time? I feel like Humpty Dumpty.<img src="http://www.LapBandTalk.com/images/smilies/help.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Help" smilieid="256" class="inlineimg" /> I just want some help. I have yoyo'd up and down from 180 to 220 for almost 20 years now ( since the birth of my first child) Has anybody out there have any words of wisdom for me other than push my self away from the table?</p>
