Why does every single thread have to turn into a lecture? And now I remember why I didnt get on this website for 3 months. -

We are human and that is what I like about this thread is it shows everyone, pre op or post op, that we all make mistakes and no one is perfect!!! The sleeve is not a magical cure and we will still mess up from time to time. But people want to come on here & start preaching, when that wasnt the point of this. I can laugh about the piece of cake I ate and not feel bad about it. I dont eat cake every day, every week or even every month. It happens. Just because we are sleeved doesnt mean we arent human and doesnt mean that we can't have something unhealthy once in a while! -

LOL This has been my favorite thread to read. I guess I have been pretty good, but have done some bad things as well. Drank 3 bottles of wine in one night & got so drunk that I ate 2 pieces of cake Ate a donut from Krispy Kreme (I dont even like donuts) Smoked some "green" and ate 3 crunchy tacos from Taco Bell (munchies haha) I do occasionally eat chips & salsa, but my limit is 6 chips. -
Body image - I did something today that shocked me...

Thinking of increasing caloroes. Good idea? Bad idea?
MystiGal replied to gamergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am almost 5 months post op and my nutritionist said I must eat no less than 1000 calories a day and no more than 1300 calories per day. There have been days I only get between 700-800 calories and that is when I do not lose. -
May slow losers - vent here!
MystiGal replied to k8ee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm sorry. Can you tell I am frustrated?! hahaha -
You will be able to eat all (or most) of the same things you did before. You can eat wherever you want. It is up TO YOU to make the right choices.

May slow losers - vent here!
MystiGal replied to k8ee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
THIS IS CONSIDERED SLOW?????? I would think you are right on target, or even a fast loser!!! And this is another reason I hate going on these boards where people who have lost 70 pounds "vent" about slow weight loss!!!!!!!! Really?????? HW 278 SW 269 CW 220 Sleeved May 21st Where are the REAL SLOW LOSERS??? -
My thing is.... Why do you have to tell anyone anything? I am shocked at the audacity of people these days. Since when is "I have some health issues that need to be taken care of" not good enough? We shouldn't feel like we HAVE to tell anyone ANYTHING or feel like we have to make up a story because we don't want people to know the truth. I personally am ashamed that I let my weight get so out of control that I needed to resort to weight loss surgery. I didn't want anyone to know what I was doing. If people are so rude to keep asking or make you feel like you have to lie about what you are doing, call them out on it!! This is a very personal decision and is no one's business. Tell them you need to have a medical procedure and you aren't comfortable sharing any more information! Your boss doesn't even need to know more than that! That is why there are HIPPA laws, to protect us. I hate that I felt this way when I decided to have surgery & it makes me upset to hear of other people going through the same thing. Screw anyone that doesn't respect your privacy!! You are not obligated to tell anyone!!!

I'm sorry but I'm just not 'wait 30 minutes to drink after eating' guy.
MystiGal replied to endless80's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For the most part I do not drink while I eat and I try to wait at least 45 minutes after I eat. However, I love spicy food and every once in while I have had to take a drink while eating. Havent had any problems. Good luck! -
I chose to only tell my mom and one friend. Well, my mom took it upon herself to tell EVERYONE and my friend told my coworker, who turned and told everyone in my office. So, just be careful who you talk to because most people cant keep their mouth shut.

I am still at 220! But I was at 222 last week, so I will take the two pounds!! -
Dfw area...soooo not telling anyone having surgery...ll
MystiGal replied to brneyd79's topic in Food and Nutrition
I also had surgery with Dr Nick. I stayed 2 nights and the nurse said most people stay 2 nights. I stayed alone and preferred it that way. You really dont need anyone in the room with you and the nurses are getting you up to walk throughout the night anyway. If I am in town, I would be happy to pick you up. Just send me a private email. -
Has anyone had surgery with Dr Nick? I am scheduled on May 21st (Tuesday) at Victory Medical in Plano...just wondering if anyone can give me some feedback about their experience. Pain after surgery? Does he require a cath during surgery? Does he come in to see us during our stay in the hospital? What have you experienced with his office (friendliness, how are they about returning calls, etc...) Any information would be helpful! I am getting so nervous, thinking of backing out!!!! Help!!

Prayers for Bill and the rest of your family as well as the team of doctors that will be performing the surgery!

How do you know you're full
MystiGal replied to NewNana's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Maybe you need to try slowing down when you eat, which is really the only thing I can think of. Also assuming you are not already taking your time. If you are, then I am no help! Haha Good luck! -
At 4 weeks out, you should be feeling pretty close to normal. I understand there are a few exceptions to the rule, but I think you will be just fine!

May sleevers! How much have you lost so far?
MystiGal replied to mrsplusamericajacksonville's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
HW 278 (size 18) SW 263 CW varies between 222 and 217 - in ANOTHER stall I feel like such a slow loser!! My body has changed, but nothing really drastic! My pants are baggy, but I am still wearing a size 16 and can barely squeeze into a 14! When I read how well everyone else is doing and see these dramatic pictures where some of yall look completely different (although I am very happy for each one of you) I get so depressed. I have seen people that I have not seen in several months and no one notices a difference. Not sure what I am doing wrong. I feel like I am destined to be fat forever.
