Miracle cure for constipation...at least for me
~Bridgette~ replied to Losing_It_In_Texas's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm still in liquids stage, but when I can eat for real, I'll be adding apricots to my routine... I've never been constipated until now, in my life!!! I bought some Senecot-s per recommendation of the pharmacist, but I'm scared to take that too, LOL. I wonder if I could find apricot juice and if it would do the same thing?!? -
your favorite chewable vitamin...
~Bridgette~ replied to vanessah's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I saw that the Bariatric Advantage folks have sampler packs for about $6 specifically for weight loss surgery patients. That might be worth checking into. -
your favorite chewable vitamin...
~Bridgette~ replied to vanessah's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well, I was doing Flinstones, but the aftertaste was killing me!! So, I bought the centrum orange ones... they taste nasty (just like the flinstones, LOL) but at least they don't seem to have that aftertaste... I feel like I have vitamin in my teeth for hours with the flinstones... blech! -
I'd love a Wii fit!! But I'm just not sure I'll commit to using it. Oddly enough, I have really started enjoying walking my little laps around the living area of my house (4 rooms that are kinda joined, it's like a little track loop, LOL). Why didn't I start that sooner? Weather, time of day, nothing is an excuse for me. Granted, it's only been a week, but it's easy! I just have to dodge the occasional cat in the kitchen floor who wants to be fed, LOL.

WVgal, that's scary stuff with that anesthesiologist!! I own a Yahoo group, it's not hard. I'd suggest that you have it set to "members only" for privacy and have folks actually have to be approved to join rather than automatic approval so the group doesn't get spammed. Yahoo groups that aren't closed are really suseptible for spamming. But other than that, it's really simple. Thanks again!

~Bridgette~ replied to SoCalCass's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Penny ~ That's awesome! CyndiG ~ I would have been p!ssed!!! And her tip would have reflected my dissatisfaction. Wow! We do work really hard to do what we're doing and it's SO not the easy way out!! Keep up the good work! :rolleyes2: -
walk walk walk = how many minutes at a time?
~Bridgette~ replied to jmegirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree... do what works best for you. I do at least 30 min consecutive a day and then add in 10 mins here and there to help prevent the gas build-up. Keep up the good work, and get those feet going, it really does help. :rolleyes2: -
Sick of Sweets!!
~Bridgette~ replied to ~Bridgette~'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks! Unfortunately, the only soup my doc lists as "acceptable" in the liquid stage other than broth is tomato.... so, I've been afraid to try the other cream of ___ soups... I may have to call and ask... I'm getting queasy just thinking of more sweets. -
Bad breath...help
~Bridgette~ replied to chrisfer1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've had it too... and it's nasty! My body is making some of the nastiest smells (both ends!) ever in history! I'm so glad I'm not working, I'd be mortified for anyone other than DH to smell it. He comes home and wonders why I have a candle burning everyday... well, he wouldn't want to be around if it werent! -
Wow, WVgal, you had a nightmare of an experience! I'm so sorry!! Today I cooked for my hubby. I made a chicken casserole with the stuffing and soup... I Love that meal, but I knew I could make it and enjoy the broth from boiling the chicken (I add onion, celery, and spices when I boil the chicken)... so now it's in the oven and I have to say it's the best looking one I've ever made!! (of course!) But I wanted to do this for him b/c he's been going out to eat everynight so not to eat in front of me and he's been so helpful throughout this process... so it's my little gift to him. Boy it smells good! Maybe when I'm on mushies, I'll fix me a little stuffing with some broth... YUM.

Any October Bandsters!??!?!
~Bridgette~ replied to SoCalCass's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't sweat the numbers, y'all!! My ticker is including all of the weight I've lost since I started my healthy lifestyle in August. It helps me to see the whole picture. -
I haven't taken pics yet, but last night when I was just in panties getting ready for bed, DH came in the room and said "ya know... you're really starting to look smaller!"... I said "flattery ain't gettin' ya no nookie, yet buster!" LOL BUT he said he wasn't even thinking that, but was serious... that I was looking smaller. Woohoo!!

ORGASM, why is my PORT area givin me a PROBLEM?
~Bridgette~ replied to JerseyGirl2u's topic in The Gals' Room
Omg, I literally LOL'd at that! siging a solo! I've only been banded a week and haven't even thought of having sex yet, so I am no help, but I hope when I finally do give up the nookie, I don't have port pain! Hope you feel better. -
I love the new look! But I miss the quick link for "subscribed threads" that was on the right... but I can adjust. Thanks for all of your hard work.

There is a program fee at WLSC for around $700 (I'm not sure the exact amount). It's due after you meet one on one with the doc and go through your pre-op counseling. Basically, right before you take your classes for surgery. Best of luck as you begin your journey!

Ok, still a little sore and pretty sick of shakes, LOL. But it's worth it!! I've been walking everyday and am trying to regain my energy. I'm looking forward to my post-op with Dr. Clark next week. I can't believe I finally have my band. I really can't tell its in there yet. I'm not hungry hardly at all, but when I forget my protein for more than 3-4 hours I get all dizzy and woozy feeling. So, I need to be better about making sure I'm getting in my protein in regular intervals. 13 or 14 lbs gone since Weds, so I'm thrilled with that!

Hey everybody... sounds like all are doing well!! We're on our way to health and fitness!!! Woohoo!!! -
Glad to hear everyone is doing well!! Congrats on all of your losses! I have a question, I keep reading folks are writing about mashed potatoes for mushies... but I didn't think we could eat those? There's no protein in them?? I know I'd love them, but my hubby is the protein police, LOL...Maybe I could sneak in some mac-n-cheese, at least the cheese has protein. LOL

I was just banded on Weds and will be traveling this weekend with my folks. They'll be on vacation and I'm sure they'll want to eat out. Is there anything we can eat when on the liquid phase at a restaurant? I looked at some online menus and all of the soups are either french onion (no protein) or chunky, like brocolli/cheddar or chilli or something like that. Any suggestions on how to deal with this weekend and not ruin their time as well?
-
Thanks, Maggies! I'm sure you've done great!!

I'm walking 30 consecutive minutes daily and then every hour I'm walking about 8 min (15 laps around my living/kitchen area). While doing my laps, I'm working in some arm movements to help work the upper body as well. It's kinda addictive. :gasp:
