please send the weight loss fairy my way

You are so right. I should work out today. I've been on vacation from work and my schedules been off a bit. So I haven't walked since last week. I'll take my new 3lb weights for a test drive. I'm graduating from 2lb weights. Yay! -
Excuse the dressing room and my disheveled look. I went to goodwill in hopes to get a couple pair of slacks and a few blouses. I've shrunk out of almost everything in my closet. I tried these two tops on and was floored. The black one was still too snug but I went ahead and got it anyway. It will fit soon.

Haven't tried it yet. Kind of scared to. I'm chicken to try new things some times. I've already had dinner. Maybe I'll try it later as my snack. I'll let you know.

Yes good problems are the best.

Thanks ladies. I'm tickled to death to see some curves. Haven't seen them in years. I work in an office with a strict dress code. I'm down 80 pounds and my clothes have gotten way to big. I'm also vertically challenged 5"2' in addition to being over weight. I usually have problems shopping second hand for dress clothes. But losing weight this fast it's just too expensive to shop anywhere else. I'm resigned to stop in at goodwill every week or two to see about slacks. Rarely do they have petite sizes. I did get three pairs of slacks one slightly short (could be Capri for a tall person) one slightly tight to shrink into, and one fit but too long (guess I'll be hemming them). Did find cute tops though. So not a complete success but not a failed trip either. I'm looking forward to shopping at the mall some day.

Having a pitch in/potluck at work tomorrow. I looked at the list of what everyone is bringing. Everything is either carb heavy or junk. So, in essence nothing I can eat. I need to sign up to bring something but I want it to be something I can eat. I'm almost 4 months out so I'm not limited by diet just by my sleeve itself. Any suggestions? My sleeve does not care for lunch meat or beef products so those are out.

I'm losing slowly compared to some but I'm happy with my progress so far.

Stepping Stones in my journey
jatherley replied to jatherley's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thanks. I love the half fast loser thank you. -
I usually use my crock pot a lot for our pot lucks. My issues with put licks post sleeve. It's that they are usually high in carbs and low in Protein. And what protein that does show up is usually beef or sausage. Both of which I have not been able to eat since surgery. I used to make a ground beef, Rotel tomato, and Velveeta dip a lot. And serve it with tortilla chips. I guess it would work with ground turkey or chicken and veggies as chips.

Thank you

I was like that pre-op. I can only imagine post-op. I feel for you. -
I don't mind if the name is changed. I just have no idea how to change it.

Well the potluck went well. The turkey meatballs were really good. I'm going to start getting them for at home. Someone did think to bring some fruit. So I ate meatballs and fruit. Very yummy.
-
Thank you for your responses. I think I'm going to go with turkey meatballs in marinara.

I like your idea. Didn't think of that. Turkey or chicken chili might work too. I definitely can't do beef chili.

Dehydration- Day 5 Post Op
jatherley replied to Memily's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry you had to go in but if you required that many bags sounds like you really needed to go. I've also given in before and got IV fluids. You should start feeling better soon. Keep Working on your fluids. It will get better I promise. -
Dehydration- Day 5 Post Op
jatherley replied to Memily's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try drinking some G2 it helps. I also struggle with my fluids. I'm 3 months out and litterly forget to drink when I get busy. Since I have so much more energy I'm busy all the time. I drink a 12 oz bottle of G2 a day in addition to as much water as I can get in. I also set an alarm on my phone to remind me to drink. Hope that helps. -
It might been the way it was cooked but I tried it a couple weeks ago in the cafe where I work. I didn't care for the taste or texture. I might buy a box and try cooking it at home and see if that makes a difference. I'd love another source of protein. Currently can only tolerate chicken which is getting old.

Anyone regret WLS and why?
jatherley replied to Scorpion11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a few days shy of 3 months out. The first 4 weeks were rough. I definitely had buyers remorse. Had a lot more pain then I expected. Had a hard time getting in my fluids and eating. Ended up getting IV fluids at week 5 and what a difference that made. I'm still not able to eat or drink and much as I hear others can but I feel amazing. My energy levels are through the roof. I'm down 40lbs since surgery and 70lbs down from my highest weight. Yesterday I jogged with my son for the first time ever. No I do not regret this. -
So does anyone have a Protein bar (or in my case part of one) for Breakfast instead of Protein shakes? I'm finding I like them better and can eat it better than drinking a shake. Thank you for your input.

I like the consistency of the Quest bars. Feels like I'm eating a meal. Some of the others remind me too much of a candy bar. I'm trying to steer clear of all candy type things. I started eating Protein bars at about 8 weeks out. Mainly because I needed the extra calories and protein. Was still having a hard time getting them in. Now I just use as a meal replacement or if I'm feeling like additional calories are in order.

Man I love Crab legs. I'm beyond tired of chicken and Crab is the only other meat that will go down. A rare treat but a good supper for tonight
